Still getting “BLOCKED” by Guardian skills. Even though Corrupt Boon is Unblockable. Is there a fix in sight for this?

EDIT: Patch notes from 4/30/2013 says they fixed the skill to be Unblockable. However, this has been happening every night I play. Including this morning June 6, 2013.

EDIT 2: After more testing, I believe this is whats happening…

Guardians can use their Shelter healing, blocking for 2-3 sec, or Focus #5 for another 3 blocks. Corrupt boon and Epidemic unfortunately gets blocked by those abilities but not by Aegis.

In short buff dont block it, ability that activate a blocking effect does. Mind you, DS #2, like Greater Marks, is truly unblockable, it will port you to a Shelter/Focus #5 guardian/Toolkit Engi/Shield Warrior no prob. So the solution is here, just need to be implemented correctly in those 2 skills.

I’ve had that happen, as well. Only thing I can guess is that the code for Aegis’ “Block” is twigged differently than a weapon/utility “Block.” Failing that, it could just be Guard’s Aegis. Have you tried this on someone(thing) else what packs Aegis?

I tested it thoroughly and I cannot get it blocked by aegis anymore. However, guardians do have block spells which will definitely block corrupt boon which is probably working as intended.

Maybe its invuln. that blocks the skill or sometihng similar?

I know that Invuln and Evade are 2 things that can block it. My problem tends to happen as they hit their mass boon button. I will cast corrupt boon it says “Blocked” and Aegis is no longer on their boons. I dont know why it does it, and I wish I had a large hdd to run fraps while I game so I can record it. Ill start trying to fraps and catch it on video, until then I dont know whats wrong with it. It seems to happen 1 in 10 tries that I use corrupt boon.

Unblockable should be just that, unblockable. Short of being Invulnerable, if something is unblockable it should either be completely or not at all. Saying it is and still having it blocked is misleading.

Also having the same troubles with Plague Signet. It isn’t unblockable but it just fails at random, a lot I might add. It just doesn’t land. It could be that with the sheer amount of evades that Rangers and Thieves are running now, coupled with Mesmer and Thief invul /invis and the fact that all three of these classes are the most played, is the reason it’s so noticeable and that it is working as intended it’s just being evaded or blocked very often.

Either way I hope they fix them both when they tweak our utility and fix our stunbreaks.

I doubt it’s intended when an ‘unblockable’ skill is being ‘blocked’. I’m sure it’s a bug.

Maybe this is the much-vaunted burning ability we are supposed to be getting? :P

After more test, I do not believe it is actually Aegis blocking it, as others have said, the guardians have a few more “Block” skills, and I believe these are the culprits because they are not actually putting a Boon on the character.

Interesting. I had forgotten that they added Unblockable to corrupt boon and epidemic: things like Shelter shouldn’t be stopping it. I take it you’re seeing this in PvP? The only thing in PvE I can think of with Block is crabs, and I can still corrupt their regen just fine.

Edit: Out of curiosity, does a warrior’s Shield Stance prevent you from using corrupt boon?

Also, if anyone wants to test this extensively, I’d be glad to provide characters in PvP rooms for target practice.
