How to Condi Reaper on a budget
Everything I say is only in reference to PvE and WvW.

Hello, friends! I’m putting together a direct-damage build for my Necro for use in dungeons and WvW, but I’m torn between using a dagger or a focus for my off-hand. On the one hand, I like the Focus’s skills for helping stick to targets and amplify my damage. On the other hand (so to speak), I like the defensive uses of the dagger and I really like how good it would synergy with the Blood traits Dagger Mastery and Quickening Thirst (so I can get Signet of the Locust off my bar in WvW without losing the movespeed boost).
Since I’m here, I’m also not sure about which sigils to use. I definitely want a Sigil of Accuracy, but what would make sense for the other one? Sigil of Force? I’m tempted to go with Sigil of Blood but I’m not sure if that’s ideal.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you your using accuracy I assume you want more precision in that case go perception.
If you posted your builds and traits it would help us help you optimize what your looking to do.
If your using staff as your off set I would put perception on that. Your marks will tag quite a few people to get your crit up faster. Then switch to your D/X. If your still in need of crit chance use accuracy. Depending on your build if you have fury on DS remember you can pop in and out of that for 20% crit, so take that into account.
I have been using this build in WvW but since his guide is for sPvP I decided to use a lot of PVT and Knights gear to get more survivability. Also due to the gearing choices I made I’m lacking in crit chance so I use perception on my staff to get the stacks and trade it out for a staff with sigil of fire. (mainly because I like it, I’m sure there are better sigils to use).
Over all I don’t feel like its better then the standard WvW condi builds but its a lot more fun imo and I get close to the same amount of bags.
Edit: As for your off hand I tend to go dagger for the damage mitigation. The blind and weakness is really nice and can be clutch. Though focus is nice when I want to burst someone down. Throw out Reapers Touch to get some extra vuln on them, then after your burst pop Spinal Shivers for the chilled to slow them from getting away. Some times though it might be better to use Spinal Shivers first to strip boons if they have Protection or Aegis.

Good question!
For the off-hand all I can say is that both of them are useful in a dagger-mainhand build so neither of them are strictly better than the other. I really like the focus for the ‘rotation’ it creates in your bar with DS#2, so that you can alternate between chill and immobilized so they have a harder time getting away.
Build
I’m using something like this for my dagger build (I don’t remember exactly, I’m running a weird minion hybrid at the moment). It took me a little while to get used to the build and actually start killing things, but when it works it’s awesome.
As for sigils: I’m a BIG fan of the sigil that chills on weapon swap (hydromancy). I use that on all my off-hands in this build. On-hand I use lightning strike (air) for the dagger and something else for the axe.
Have fun!
Personally i prefer Focus over OH dagger just because it fits much more nicely with access to vulenerability & the boon stripping to tone down Buff-heavy proffesions.
I’d stick with Locust signet over Quickening thirst, just because the heal can be a lifesaver in battles & there are much better traits you can use in Blood magic.
Rage is still my preffered sigil, even after the haste nerf. If you want to see some D/F action in WvW just have a look at the vid on my channel.
