I decided to make this topic in order to submit some “suggestions” that tortured me when I was trying to sleep last night.

I will start by saying that we-necromancers need a multiple-hitting auto attack. Every proffesion(except engi I think) has an auto attack that hits more than 1 target, and not with the projectile way.

1) Life blast
Make it bounce. The damage will stay as it is and will be decreased by 30% for each target it hits after the initial attack.
Target No 1 gets full dmg , let’s say 1000. Target No 2 gets 700 damage and target No 3 gets 490 damage.
Also this comes with a change on Unyielding Blast. We remove the piercing ability since now it bounces and we add Life Force.
Life Blast drains 0.5% life force for each of your No 2 and No 3 enemies.

The damage reduction on the bouncing targets prevents huge criticals on targets other than the first strike, since it lowers by a standar percentage and the more damage you dead, the bigger the amount of lowering will be.
1% Life force IF it hits 2 enemies is nothing big, we degenerate 4% per sec in DS and any damage cuts chunks off our pool.
So:

Life blast
Bounces to 3 targets maximum with 30% lower damage each time.
Gets a trait upgrade that will give LF for the target it hits up to maximum 1% per blast.

2)Terror
Make your foe flee in fear(1s) while giving you swiftness for the next 3s.
Again, this is not anything big, but it can help us with mobility issues and/or chasing.

3)DS5 Suggestions
Devs talked about DS5 as probably becoming a new condition, I will suggest one but I have to say that we might need the DS5 slot for our damage mitigation balance purposes.

3a)Shadow forgery.
Here comes our “Invu”.
Instant cast, Breaks stun , Cooldown 90s
Call down a shadow forgery that will forge an armor from the shadows for You.
Mirror armor. You are enveloped by an armor of mirrors. For the next 3 seconds any damage you take will return back to the attacker.

This will give necro a breath. A skilled player will stop attacking for the duration of Mirror Armor and this will give a necro a chance to either win ground or to make his comeback on the offense.

In addition to the above, we take out “Death Nova” death magic’s grand master trait that is not good at all for a grand master trait and we change it with:

Ethereal mirror. Your mirror armor grants you life force each time you are hit.
Trait is DM 30 grandmaster, it means if you go that far in to take it, you are probably playing a bunker.

3b)Chains punishment
We have not yet had a “Rip conditions – Deal Damage” thing in the game so..

Range 600, AoE similar to Life Transfer, instant cast,breaks stun,CD 90s
Ethereal chains from the beyond will grab your foes immobilizing them for 3s.
Every foe within 600 range will get inflicted by Ethereal Punishment.

Ethereal Punishment(New Condition)
Ethereal Punishment will rip 1 condition per second from nearby foes inflicting damage for every unique condition.
Lasts 5 seconds.
Damage formula:
Level * 2 + (0.25 * Power + 0.35 * Condition Damage)

3c)Dark Portal
The user summons a dark portal.
Anyone standing within 900 range from the dark portal will get attacked by shadow beings(Imagine that out of the portal comes more “Death Shrouds”)
The shadow being will knockdown the enemy(2s) damaging him and inflicting 1 random condition per second for the next 3s.
After 5 seconds the portal will explode granting the necromancer 10% LF.
Duration of the portal 5s, Cast Time 1/2 , cooldown 90s.

again, as with every suggestion thread i love all of your ideas, but from experience im not getting my hopes up for any significant changes since nothing major has been done since game release.

I’d love an aoe immobilize since necros have a hard time locking down a fleeing target that have escapes but i doubt anet cba anymore with major changes.

They talked about a major change and that is DS5. It IS a major change since they want it to be something completly new, I don’t think that any of my above ideas is overpowered, since we talk about necro here.
I want more constructive feedback ^^

I like Deathshroud as it is i just wish it didn’t drain…

I really like the terror with a bit of swiftness and the chains punishment idea. I was thinking for the new skill in DS as an AoE Spectral Gasp thing . U could “pull” maximum 4-5 enemies and it would depend from the amount of life force u have (full LF-4 enemies,70% LF-3 enemies etc).
After the skill is activated all LF depletes completely (so u cant DS3 and be OP). It would be even better if that was considered a stun breaker also.
Offensively u could bring some foes to you and your party to deal with or defencively u could “in a way” sacrifice yourself for a chance for your party/allies to flee. In zerg situations u could pull part of the zerg to you and decrease the efficiency of a rushing group. Of course line of sight must be on.
Another idea for the new “condition” would be to deactivate an enemy random skill for (5 secs?) .Or deactivate a random F1,F2,F3,F4 skill for a period of time. For example Necros couldnt use Death Shroud or Elementalists couldnt use (random) Water/Fire/Air/Earth skills for 5 sec. For Pve it would be useless of course but i’m talking about WvW or PvP mostly.

@Andele I don’t want mesmers, we are supposed to be the highest “damage mitigation” proffesion and we are at the bottom,if someone should have an “invulnerable” type ability, that should be us.

@Geovra I thought of “Pull enemies to you” also, but without a knockdown this would only mean death to necro.
Sacrificing your LF Pool is also an other good idea but again we give away too much, in order for something like this to be success full we would need to get mobility+survivability out of it.

Deactivating a random utility skill that is not on cooldown would be good too , altho I find it weak.
It could also be used like this on PvP and something like “Prevent enemy from attacking for X seconds” in PvE.

@Natsos Yes i forgot to mention that when the skill is activated u gain stability ….i think it has to gain stability since so many enemies come around you
