Dagger, Axe or GS for Power Necro?
GS is actually a decent hybrid weapon. I play Viper Reaper with GS & Scepter/Dagger. GS is mainly just used there for nightfall and the #5 pull/chill and the occasional gravedigger if a good condi combo field is present.
As for power builds in PvE, GS & Dagger/X for highest damage, but I take Axe/x instead of dagger so I have a ranged option when it is needed. For WvW I would recommend Staff & Axe/x.
Also, for survival on a power build in PvE you could run a might stacking build with Blighter’s Boon at the cost of damage. Though if you are pugging most content then it probably won’t be a damage loss at all since pugs aren’t the best at maintaining high might stacks for the group anyways

Speaking about PVE only, dagger is strictly inferior to GS, and as such is never used. With that in mind, I suggest taking axe for ranged option – it’s actually very decent after its buffing spree.
GS is also used in condi rotation, because of Deathly Chill.
As for power survivability – run blood magic and wells. Dying will take some effort.
GS, Axe/Foucs with Decimate Defenses.
Foucs 4 + Axe 2 at 300 range and you destroy.
GS 3 + GS 2 and crush souls with the cleave.
I recommend for PVE: GS and Axe/Warhorn
(For Worldbosses the staff is a viable option.)
For WvW I suggest, it´s quite the same but with more focus on Axe/Focus.
Thanks, guys. One more question: which non Staff power weapon or weapon set is the best Life Force generator?

Greatsword. It has LF gen on each auto attack 1%/1%/5%, 12% from #3 and 4% on #5 all per target.
GS is cleave and good for multiple targets.
Dagger has a good immob and lifedrain.
Axe is single target mid range and is your range weapon.
I use axe/focus and GS.
9 Sylvari, 9 unique Builds.
For wvw, axe/x and staff is common. Off hand can be personal preference. Staff can become unblockable with marks, which invaluable in team fights and still fairly useful roaming.
Dagger main and greatsword will just cause people to kite you. If you’re already going reaper, reaper shroud is melee and has your only leap. There’s no way to make up ground otherwise.
I jus’t can’t find a good power weapon for pve and wvw (for PvP i don’t even bother any more, condi all the way). Any idea what it would be the highest single target power weapon?
PvE:
GS has the highest dps (Gravediger makes the difference, Dagger and GS auto attacks are equal). Cleave and survivability is also alot better on GS. As secondary weapon take Staff for ranged cleave or Axe for ranged dps.
WvW:
Axe/Focus+Dagger/Warhorn or Axe/Warhorn+GS are both viable options.
In a Spite/Soulreaping/Reaper build (good all-round build but weak against warriors, condi reapers and can’t kill bunkers) I run the Dagger setup.
In a Spite/Curses/Reaper build (weak against thieves, but counters boon bunkers, revenants, warriors and condi reapers) I run the GS setup to compensate the low sustain with Nightfall.
@Kr
I wouldn’t say that GS has higher survivability than dagger as it’s very subjective to the activity you are doing. For instance there are some things you can solo with a dagger that you wouldn’t be able to with a GS.

If it’s to kite Axe > Dagger
If it’s for close combat GS > Dagger

This!
The only scenario where Dagger is superior to GS is a melee fight against a thief (which is in general a bad idea as a Reaper).
The only reason I listet Axe/Focus+Dagger/Warhorn as a viable weaponset is because of the great utility of Warhorn and Focus and because you can trait Speed of Shadows (no Staff trait needed) and stuff for a shroud focused build, but not because Dagger would be somewhat good in melee. When you run the dagger setup, you prefer to autoattack in shroud.

Isn’t that a bit weird? That GS, which hits 3 – 5 foes has higher single target dps than Dagger, which only hits one foe – two with autoattack?
So even if i want the highest single target dps i should take GS over Dagger?
i use axe/horn and GS in everything (wvw, pve, etc). I roam solo in wvw though. if i do run with the zerg, i swap GS for staff

Not really. Dagger has always been a kitten weapon. What I do find odd though is that Greatsword is a meta condi weapon for pve. Anet should have just made dagger our new melee condi weapon (as it always should have been) and then we’d be stuck with 1 power melee weapon – greatsword, 1 condi range weapon – sceptre, and 1 condi melee weapon – dagger.
