Dark Path not tracking targets?

I haven’t seen any one complaining about Dark Path not tracking targets. Sometimes when I use the skill, I think it’s whenever I use it straight after entering DS, it doesn’t track its target – it just goes straight in whatever direction I’m facing. I’m assuming this only happens when I’m lagging (which is every day if I play later on the evening). It’s incredibly annoying and it happens several times every sPvP match… any one else getting the same problem?
And no it’s not because of stealth, neither do I lose my target. It’s just blatantly missing its target. I used to get this problem rarely, but ever since the September patch I have both been lagging and missing Dark Path regularly.

Could be lag or terrain issue, personally for me Dark Path always follows the target

This happens sometimes when people are too far away or dodge. I hope the new update for Staff velocity affects the speed of the hand in Dark Path also.

it wont happen. the only things anet is doing to necro which will have zero impact on the class is the life gain from dagger and the speed increase to staff . making the attacks come out faster should be across the board for the ranged attacks for necro anyways .

The tracking on Dark Path works, the problem you’ve encountered could be 1 of 3 things:
a. a little bump or intervening obstacle in the terrain blocked the projectile – it doesn’t take much: if I cast it on someone standing on quarry or waterfall in Foefire, the bend of the little hillock the node is on is enough to give me an “obstructed” message.
b. Your opponent blinded you as soon as they saw you enter DS (probably to avoid your fear)
c. Your opponent simply walked out of Dark Path’s range, and because the projectile speed is so slow players can LITERALLY outrun that stupid thing.

A bad necromancer always blames the corpse.
