Deathly chill in spvp is fine and that show its suppose to be. Having 50 stacks of bleeding on single target when it comes to wvw is just way too much
Also yes power necro does need a buff and especially necro wells.

If you stand in the necros ice field (1.25s cast time) and let him Soul Spiral (2.75s cast time) on you for the entire duration, you deserve to die.
It’s not about the ice field and soul spiral. It’s GS+shoutspam from what I’ve seen. Suffer alone can easily get an instant 9 stacks in a generous AoE if it procs Chilling Nova. Toss in more shouts for more chill, thanks to Reaper runes and you got an alright bit of damage going with no tell. Chilling Darkness, Hydromancy and Ice sigil, and your own ice field helps as well. And if you add in Frost Aura, kindly provided by your own finisher or a friendly ele, you apply a fair few bleeds under pressure as well.
Honestly, it’s not as big as it appears, with the build being easily countered by anything bigger than a duo roamer assuming your group is competent and knows what to watch out for, but it could stand a reduction still. 1 bleed was underwhelming but 3 are too much.
lol, mesm can stack 10 confu and torment every 5 sec, dmg you with 3k per sec and more.
Dh and warris can cast easil 8+ stacks of burning ticking with 4k+.
thiefs can perma dodge, while stacking 30+ stacks of bleedig to you while not attackable
and you are crying about a class nearly without stability, without blocks, invuls, invis, mobiliy, dodge skills because of finally making less condi dmg than every other class? hmm…

Necromancers have access to corruption skills which allows them to stack more conditions than just 30 stacks of bleeding. Necros have most of the condition available to them in the game thru corrupts and skills. On top of that you have a single necro which can stack 30 stack of bleeding easily now times that by how many ever necro enemy group or zerg has.
Deathly chill shouldnt stack 3 stacks of bleeding it should be just 1. If it’s going to stack 3 bleeding per ticks then might as well put a Icd on that trait for 3 seconds or so. Deathly chill is a broken trait in WvW.

Necros have always been seen as free kills in wvw. Suddenly a necro bites back and these people cry for nerfs.
Why wasn’t this trait nerf? This trait is really broken in WvW. A solo necro can stack 30 stacks of bleeding AoE easily. Can we please do balance separation for this trait and bump the amount of bleeding down to 1 stack in WvW. Good epi change.
Because Anet didn’t think it needed to? I mean, we’ve had this argument already … if a solo necro is stating 30 bleed on you, it’s a L2P issue. The tradeoff for getting that 30 stacks is pretty big.

Sadly PvE and WvW balance are shared.. but maybe they can do a thing: makes barbed precision 100% proc on crit and and then reduce bleeding stack of Deathly Chill.
The cancerous stat known as Traibrazzers don’t have crit chance, so this can “fix” the issue between WvW problems and PvE damage.
Deathly Chill was left as it is as a payoff for the fact that epidemic got deleted.

Honestly it deserves its own balance catagory, given how different pvp and wvw are. But given how unlikely that is, pvp and wvw balance together would be better than pve and wvw.
The trait definitely needs to be toned down in WvW. I don’t necessarily think that changing it back to the 1 bleed per chill is the way to go however. Personally I think reverting it to chill itself doing damage (at a lower value to what was previously) and then potentially giving it a boon corrupt on chill application (boon corrupt having a 8-10s icd).
In my opinion, the trait requires a nerf largely due to its ease of use and scale ability. Even players who have never played necro before and pick it up and have good fight impact by spamming their chill abilities. While this isn’t always an issue in and of itself, the issue is compounded by how there is no longer an upper limit for bleed stacks in WvW. It doesn’t matter if you take 1 necro and 10 necros, each one is able to have the same amount of impact on the fight without diminishing returns. It simply encourages class stacking which isn’t healthy for the game.
I love necro and I am a huge fan of condi necro in particular, but it is shocking to me that people try and defend the trait in its current form. I understand that when it is 1-2 necros there is counterplay for small groups, but more and more I’m seeing groups of 10 running 4+ necros with the rest support. The reward for its ease of use and the lack of diminishing returns from stacking necros is unacceptable and is unhealthy balancing to the game.

They actually should change the trait. As long as an enemy has chill they have a debuff that pulses dmg that scales with power and not condi. This would give the trait some decent punch and you cannot stack ridiculous amounts of condis, in addition it would remove the condi part from reaper which should be the power elite spec for this class.
Condi necro choose reaper just for this trait.

I think there could be a reason for that, even though I don’t think Anet consciously does make that link. I see WvW as PVE with a strategic element, or at least it can be played that way. PVP is almost totally player competitive.
Put it think way … anyone that thinks a zerg vs. zerg is about PVP hasn’t really thought that through very well. There isn’t really such a thing as balancing when 25 players hit 25 others. I find the notion that any kind of class and skills balance should be attempted in THAT environment completely ridiculous.

Ya it was the same thing with 10second druid celestial avatar. People were defending that garbage as legit play. So glad I don’t play druid anymore, they could get the SMC legendary lord as a pet and they would still cry druids need buffs.
Heres the thing why deathly chill is a thing,necro needed a role badly in wvw and having a lacking presence on both the frontline and backline was what the trait fixed along improving fending off a thief.
Is it opressive?yes it is but if you look on the opposite side of wvw then you also see the tempests which have more power on theyr disposal with theyr shouts.
Warriors with stability and resistance etc and list goes on.
Clearly all the qq is from people that refuse to adapt,and i will even go further and say people took for granted that necro was a punching bag for 4 years and now that they can fight back they dont like it.
So much hypocricy too,no one minds the tempests spam aoe burn and immob and bleeds along with boons too.
Deathly chill is fine balance wise,people need to learn to play against it and even more they need to stop making useless threads that waste our time.
30 bleeds are the average shout burst from necro and wastes almost all skills,having a cleanse skill takes only 1 slot and clears that stack of bleeds.

If there is a game mode where necro have had a role it’s been wvw. The necro’s been meta in wvw since players understood ow to use well of corruption. Corrupting boons is in itself something that make the necromancer meta and there is no other gamemode in this game where there is more boons to corrupt.
1 word….DODGE. Dont waste them when fighting reaper.
Another word…RANGE. Still a weakness of reapers.

If by role you mean beeing a meatshield for the backline to sacrifice so they get away laughing while you die trying to corrupt boons during a boonspam,i would hardly call it a meta.
Also that was certainely dead after the well of corruption nerf back before HoT.
Post HoT at best organised groups mixed 1-2 well necros for theyr bombs,but everyone can agree here that it was just utility and more of a charity than actuall necessity.
I am certain that no one cried that they didnt had a necro and had to result to use something with more aoe dmg like an extra ele,or heck an extra anything.
