The Necromacer is “missing” two elites! A Signet and a Well.

If you could design them yourself what would they be?

You can even take skills from the transforms like Anet did with the Guardian’s Tomes.
You don’t have to worry about damaging the transforms. It’s all fantasy after all :P

I’m very curious what you guys would come up with!

Terrible name for a necro skill…

How about this:
Signet of Corruption (3/4 casttime sec 60 cd):
passiv: Convert every 5 secends 2 conditions on you into boons.
active: Remove all boons from yourself and for every boon removed corrupt 1 boon from up to 5 enemies in a 600 range. Deals also damage for ech enemy boon corrupted.

Well of ruin (1/4 casttime not sure about cd):
Target area pulses, damaging foes, inflicting conditions and grating boons to allies.
Conditions inflicted: Cripple, weakness and vulerability
Boons granted: swiftness, protection and might
Damage is the same as well of corruption

Well, in keeping with our class the 2 missing elites must:
A) not be worthwhile
B) have a disproportionate cooldown in relation to the effect received

Well: pulses weakness and does 500 damage/sec on full power build, 180s cd

Signet: passive increases healing power by 180. Active is a teasing 1s protection, 1s resistance and 2k heal that scales .01 with healing power, 300s cd

I would be open to employment with Anet, just saying

Well of Aging:
knock down for 1 seconds when casted and when end (also can grant stability when casted and when end), 240 radius, inflict huge damage (similar to Well of Suffering but a little lower) and inflict 2 sec. of poison (2 stacks) and weakness every pulse. Last 5 sec. CD 80-90 sec. Combo Field: Dark. Number of targets: 5

Signet of Vengeance:
Passive: Copy a random condition you’re suffering (and all his stacks) to all enemies in range (every 10 sec). area effect of 600.
Active: Steal boons from your enemies. Up to 5 enemies and Up to 3-4-5 boons per enemy hit (with all they’re stacks but with 5 sec of duration). area effect of 800/1200

That way the passive effect grant us another condi source and at the same time don’t fight against Plague Signet for the conditions and the active effect is different than the corrupt effect why don’t corrupt boons but steal it, granting us boons, a thing that we “totally” lack.

Cool ideas but the elite signet passive seems op. I think with those numbers you could heal better the healing builds (ventari rev, druids etc.) and the healing would be independent of healing power.

How about a well that does fire damage. If you step inside of the well you lose all boons and minions and for each one lost the well is expanded in size and duration. Also, it sets you on fire so that you can toss some burn onto targets outside of the well if you choose.
Like a giant crematorium or something. XD

Reasoning : necromancer are the master of fear and a well that basically do the same as spectral wall with a horrendous CD (and no protection on allies) should be a must

No core profession should be balanced around an optional elite specialization.

I like these ideas. Necromancer’s Fear nerf from so long ago is still on my mind and the condition is no longer “strong” in the current state of the game with every profession able to pump them out or clear them.

Yesterday, I was considering the merits of tacking Sunless runes on a Viper’s setup just to see if I could build a power/condi hybrid without being stuck auto-attacking with scepter.

Passive: gain each boon you corrupt (5 second ICD)
Active: transform all of your boons into conditions and send them to nearby foes (600 Radius, 2 conditions per foe, 3/4 of a second cast time, 40 second cooldown)

Signet of Pestilence
Passive: all healing to nearby foes is reduced. Gain life force based on a percentage of all healing done to nearby foes (healing reduction: 25%, life force gain: 10%)
Active: break stuns and Inflict poison, weakness and vlunerability on nearby foes (600 radius, 30 seconds cooldown)

Signet of Devouring
Passive: while in combat, you periodically devour some of your own health in order to recharge the cooldown of all shroud and weapon skills by a small time. Interval: 4 seconds, HP loss: 2%, cooldown reduction: 1 second
Active: finish up to 3 downed foes in an area, healing for a large amount for each foe finished. Range: 600, radius 240, HP per finish: 4000, cast time: 2 seconds, cooldown: 180 seconds.

ha i’m glad i read that before i posted my reply, i’d posted the same idea right down to the name lol (well mine has an S on the end XD)
they should definitely make it a thing!

I also said it should pulse from the center instead of the player so if you use this on a group you can watch them scatter in all directions rather than just away from the necro

I like the well but how is it better than Null field

It’s better and worse. Better in that you aren’t dealing with negating conditions/boons one at a time, worse in that it’s not doing anything about current conditions/boons. It’s a more strategic play for negating spam of either one.

That said, would it be broken if it also cleared all of them? Probably not.

passive – 15% damage reduction from both conditions and direct damage
active: pull downed ally to you (900 range), restore 20% of their health, and gain 5 stacks of stability. inflict fear (1.5s) on nearby enemies (240 radius). 60s cooldown.

Well of the swamp:
pulse slow (2s), cripple(2), chill(1s), poison(2s), and torment(2 stacks, 5s). Downed enemies are gradually pulled under and finished if inside the well for 5 seconds.

Pulses each second for 5 seconds, 90s cooldown

Well of Oblivion

Grants 1 second of might to allies and 1 second of bleeding to enemies every pulse.
Every three seconds, the well will shrink and will knock back enemies near its edge. The third time it shrinks it erupts dealing massive damage.
Radius 480
Duration 9 seconds
Combo field: Dark

OR

Well of the Dead

Each pulse grants allies stability. Whenever an ally or enemy dies within the well the duration of the well increases by 1 second (max 10 seconds).
Duration: 10 seconds

Damage X
Radius 520
If you die while Well of the Dead is active you become a Poltergeist Projection (transformation) with new skills and lasts the duration of the well.

Poltergeist (has three skills sorta like Plague)
- Cannot leave Well of the Dead’s area of effect.
PP1: Lung at your enemy, dealing damage
- 1.2: Claw at your enemy, causing cripple.
PP2: Scare – Become invisible for 2.5 seconds. Reactivate to teleport to target enemy; fearing them.
PP3: Spectral Vengeance – Return your spirit to your body, knocking back enemies in your path and cause an aoe eruption once your reconnect with your body.

Connection with death (4s): +15% extra maximum life force.
Active: quintuples max hp, current hp and incomming healing for 5~8 seconds.
Cooldown 60~90 seconds.

Well of despair:
Damage all enemies and grant cursed debuff.
Cursed (3s) : can’t regain health.
Duration: 5 seconds.

Active – teleport yourself up to 1200 leaving a pulsing swarm of ice locusts that apply 1.5 seconds of chill on each pulse. 3 pulses 2 seconds apart. Leaving the cloud automatically causes 1 second of Fear. 90 second cool down.

Well
Applies 3 stacks of 5 second Torment and 1 stack of 2 sec quickness per pulse. The well has a 1 second pulse, 5 second duration, 240 radius from the caster, creates a light field, and has a 180 second cool down but is not ground targeted.

To keep the theme Anet wants I came up with these:

Signet of procrastination
Passive – All skills are delayed by 2 sec
active – put all your skills on cooldown

Well well
- Spawns a bunch of tiny wells of darkness that is slightly annoying to deal with but doesn’t threaten anyone.

On a more serious note.

Signet of Corruption
Passive – Deal damage when you corrupt a boon
Active – For 10 seconds you gain 1 stack of stability(about 5sec) for each boon you corrupt.

I wont come up with a well elite because we’ve had one since launch but it has some identity issues. It thinks it’s a corruption for some reason.

- Allies cant drop below 1 health (Would also work on DS health)

Signet of Grenth:

Passive: Inflicting a condition steals life, if you inflict chill the leech is trippled (40 per condition per stack)
Active: 900 range shadowstep to target area, leaving a trail of ice between the 2 positions that inflicts chill and torment onto foes. 30 second CD.

Signet of Binding
-Cooldown:- 30s
-Passive: – Summons one Jagged Horror every 10 sec (maximum 5)
-Active: – All your active minions become immune to damage (can still be CCed) and charge your target, detonating as a Putrid Explosion.

Went for minions for the signet but gave the minions a different role rather than the current ‘summon and tank’ setup. In theory could get up to 15+ minions with Rise + traits but also gives non MM necros access to a slow build up ‘bomb’ skill. The low cooldown reflect that it will take at least a minute to get the full effect from the signet’s active effect.

Well of Lost Hope

-Duration: 10 sec
-Pulses: 1 sec
-Cooldown: 60 sec
-Target Area pulses, damaging foes and inflicting conditions.
-Each pulse will inflict the following conditions based on the foe’s current conditions.
-No conditions → Bleeding
-Bleeding → Poison
-Poison → Torment & Cripple
-Torment → Burning
-Crippled → Chilled

Wanted a well for the condi necro to favour along with the standard back/mid line necro in WvW. It starts out fairly weak but quickly ramps up, adding more conditions as time goes on. Since conditions can get cleansed fairly quickly in a WvW situation, wanted the well to last longer than the others but it also gives it a chance to put a reasonable amount of conditions onto a PvE foe.

Well of the Vampire.

Large AoE (time warp sized) pulses a large life siphon, and weakness. Deals long AoE chill on ending.

Well of Profane:
Small Healing Pulses + Summon a jagged Horror for every ally(or every enemy as well?) that died in this area. (max 10?)

Notes: Synergy with Bone minions and other Jagged Horror skills/traits and Death Nova. Could replace lichform in raids/pve which is currently just used for the minions.


Signet of Suffering:
Passive: 3 green orbs circle around you, healing allies they hit.
Active: Enhance the range of those healing orbs and their healing but uses lifeforce over time. (Signet Might Trait cooldown: 15seconds)

Notes: Healing Necro with Shaman gear (more lifeforce, longer uptime for the enhanced Healing orbs). Great for corrupting enemy boons and healing allies thanks to Signets of Suffering.

Each pulse works much like Well of Corruption, but is updated to today’s game mechanics and strips everything, not just basic boons, including resistance, engi bulwark gyro effects, revenants dwarf or the effect that doubles boon duration (forgot its name), stealth, etc.
Bypasses all blocks, invulnreabilities and evade effects.

Signet of whateverness:
CD 90 seconds
Passive +power and + condi damage
Activate: Converts all boons on target to conditions and replicates all boons converted on the caster. Bypasses all block, evade and invuln mechanics.

Signet Of Trauma would be nice in tandem with Corruption skills. You would be able to cast a Corruption, have the signet remove the conditions passively, then later on get a bigger burst with a single attack. Eg. Blood Is Power w/ Master Of Corruption -> Signet Of Trauma removes the Bleed x2 and Torment x2 -> Activate Signet Of Trauma during the final attack in the scepter auto attack chain -> final scepter auto now does: 1 Corrupted boon, Bleed, Poison, Bleed x2 and Torment x2.

Well Of Summoning would be really nice both defensively and offensively. Either you could use it for kiting multiple people or you could use it to lock people down. First they get knocked down, then they get immobilized = great for keeping people still while we wind up one of our tremendously long cast time skills (Executioner’s Scythe) + with a leap like Death’s Charge = also dazes them from Lightning Field.

Active:
Convert one boon into a condition. For every boon you convert you gain stability. (10 secs, 10 stacks max).

Number of Targets: 5.
Cooldown: 90 seconds.
Cast time: 1 sec cast time.

Can work as either a ground targetting skill or can work similar like ‘Signet of the Locust’.

Well:

Base damage deals similar damage like ‘Well of Corruption’, but the damage gets a 10% increase for every condition on your foe.

Pulse: 1sec.
Duration: 6 seconds.
Number of Targets: 5.
Cooldown: 60 secs.
Cast time: 1/2 sec cast time.

Creates dark field which heals allies and grant life force to you based on the dmg the well does. CD 90s
dmg as well of suffering for 6 sec pulse every 1 sec

Signet of Despair:
Passive: Apply blind to every enemy in 600 radius every 5 sec(need to be in combat)
Active: Gain 10 stacks of stability for 10 sec
