Dhuumfire has upset everyone.
It really has.
Never wanted it, never liked being forced to play with it, don’t like that other parts of our class are being discussed because we have this stupid trait.
Honestly just taking away Dhuumfire would probably quell 90% of the QQ going around right now and I’d be very happy.
Removing dhuumfire would never stop all of the QQ. People have finally learned that conditions are actually decent. They now have something new to complain about that they will NEVER stop complaining about. I love all of the new necro love though :p
Close to death really annoys me. Why put a direct damage trait at the top of the expertise line? Same with lingering precision. Who had the bright idea to put a condi trait at the top of the precision line?

Umm.. you do know C2D is in the power trait line and Withering Precision is in the Precision/Condi Damage trait line?

I’m more concerned with the fact that people are considering nerfing the necro even further, while the role of the necro in PVE is not even being considered at all for these balance decisions.

Pro’s:
It’s let the few top level PvP necro’s faceroll with glass cannon hybrid.
Cons:
It doesn’t fit into necro lore. Life & fire god vs death & cold.
It’s a condition stuck at the top of Power line.
It’s a auto-proc in the background of other things. Requiring no skill to use/activate, and also means no control over it going on clones & other things you don’t want it to.
Terror on Fear has been nurfed because of it. Slapping any condi necro who doesn’t go 30 points power.
30/30 build + Nightmare Rune is now seen as the ONLY PvP build.
Fairly useless in PvE.
Lots & lots of people don’t want to play PvP against this necro type, and lots of necro’s from beta, are feeling like un-main’ing there necro.

Dhuumfire needs to go and be replaced by something affecting non-damaging conditions. Vulnerability, Chill, Cripple, Immobilize, Blind or Weakness. Not Fear, we don’t want any more trouble from that particular one…
Personally I would love to see a trait built around Chill. When applying chill you remove one boon and apply 5 stacks of vulnerability. Your Chill effects last 20% longer.
Chill wouldn’t be bad as power necros already have a hell of a time reliably locking down a target. I just don’t get how developers who listen to a community add a trait that we ask them not to, explain exactly why it is over the top, and then when they do decide something needs to be hit it is our sustain mechanic….

Daddy, the issue isn’t GW1 builds. It’s that most necro’s don’t want it, and non-necro’s definatly dont. The dev’s say that 1 build is over powered. They already nurfed fear 20%, now terror. Huge upraw in PvP forums saying necro’s need nurfing on damage & tankyness.

Although 30/20/0/0/20 is incredibly strong.
Yeh, I personally think it could be renamed ‘Burning Itch’ and it’d fit in the lore. ;-P
I do know it deeply upset a few that actually really into that lore stuff tho.
I personally use some fused skins because I think they look good.

Dhuumfire not only works with the terror build, it is useful too in hybrid builds. Terror was nerfed, so there is no point on nerf Dhuumfire anymore.

Needs to happen.
The 4s burning every 10s in a 0 condition damage or condition duration build will easily outdo the % damage increase of the alternative, thanks to the burning condition’s rather neat level scaling.

Your not seeing the point. Adding burning with a unskilled auto-apply, upset others in pvp. The solution so far has been to nurf fear, then terror.
It looks like next on the cards is reducing our life, and our damage from non-conditions.
Why should our build diversity and already lacking pve suffer because of this one condition in tPvP?
Even in non-top teir pvp, it’s likely countered by a guard or ele’s auto-cleans.

Won’t be a free kill ever again? All DFire has done is add 100’s of pages of necro hate on forums, and pointed out CC & kill the necro is first priority.
Anet seems to do this a lot: nerfing around the broken skill/trait, causing tons of collateral damage to builds not using that skill/trait. They did the same in GW1.
