Dilemma between PvE MM Armor
Your equipment doesn’t affect what the minions themselves do at all, except for the conditions they cause (which use your condition damage/duration). So your own stats don’t really matter at all.
The reason power is most common for MMs is because in general the power weapons and power traits synergize best with MM. But if you are doing fractal level 40+ just fine as it is, why would you even want to change?

I know that equipment doesn’t change MM stats, only traits do, but at my other post I was reading that a lot of guys used power and you said that you would even roll berserker armor for dungeons, so I began thinking :p ah well, I’ll just see what I’m gonna do I guess n.n
For groupPVE you shouldn’t even use MM :/
For groupPVE you shouldn’t even use MM :/
Why not? If your worried about min/maxing DPS, you mine as well say “for group pve you shouldn’t even use necro :/”. Not trying to come off as rude, but MM aren’t about having warrior tier damage. They provide sustained damage while being inheritly tanky through traits. And as bhawb has stated in other MM forum topics, using berserker gear while running minions can provide very good damage output.
As for the topic of the main post, I prefer to run a power setup mainly because minions lack the condition output to keep condition pressure up. My view is biased because I mostly PvP with a MM spec tho. If you have no problems running 40+ fracts with your current build, then I think you should stick with conditions and just optimize your build through small tweaks here and there.

Minions are far unfinished. They’re dying too fast, they’re react too slow, they’re “use-skills” in pve completely useless, they’re don’t help party at all (if compare to ranger spirits). MM in PVE is not effective.
And if you need to be “tanky” in current PVE – you’re doing something wrong.

1. Minions do not die fast these days.. and if some do (bone minion) just wait some CD and you can already respawn them with a MM build
2. They help ME a lot + Give aoe poison+weakness fields at bosses/veteran groups
3. MM in PvE IS effective, I’ve never lacked by DPS, almost never got under 50% HP at big boss fights
4. I don’t need to be tanky, I just like being it, that’s why all ‘zerk’ warriors die in front of me, my minions keep the aggro busy and I can start ressing downed players..
5. ‘not viable’ in PvE is a therm that only ‘elitists’ use. 5 man party, everyone full zerk, warrior warrior warrior guardian mesmer and farm dungeons without having fun.
A game is supposed to be fun , so MM is viable or not, I prefer to use it, just because I love it, why should you complain about me not being viable if a game is just for fun ?
I have to agree with Falcon here. Being “tanky” is not the point- it’s being able to keep yourself alive that’s the point, and if it also helps the party (aside from not dying, that is) the better. I mean, when running Fetid Consumption and Plague Signet, I’ve effectively made the entire party immune to conditions (figure 5 conditions drawn every 10 seconds, and those that do get backed up get reflected back with Putrid Mark). In addition, Training of the Master and Vampiric Master ensure that whatever damage I take, the HP is almost instantly restored. This and strategic use of Death Shroud makes for a very survivable class in a SHTF scenario.
