Consume conditions is great skill, like best healing skill in game (low CD, high base heal, great additional heal by cleansing ALL you conditions), but in PvE, when party members always cure conditions from you faster than you can even cast CC with aoe cleanse skills.. It lose half of his potential.

But what else to use? Blood fiend is bad emergency heal for non-MM and well of Blood have long cooldown.

Even if I were in a party with a ton of group condition removal, I’d still prefer CC. It’s a great heal that you don’t need to build around for it to be useful.

like best healing skill in game (low CD, high base heal…

lol nope!
The only good thing about this skill is the full cleanse, the heal itself is bad and the cooldown is average at best.

All our heals are average at best. So yeah CC is pretty much the only choice. Can use well for certain situations (colossus fractal). Blood fiend is pretty good if you know you arent going to need the active and you just want some more dps and a slight bit of sustain.

If you’re Human, Prayer to Dwayna is an option.

Not that awesome, but if you don’t need the condition cleanse (or, better, the lack of conditions makes CC lose most of its potential), it’s a decent alternative.

When specced/geared correctly, I would argue that Well of Blood surpasses CC in effectiveness and quality; in WvW, sPvP, and PvE. It’s not just traits that have to be selected correctly, but also your gear and runes. On my necro, I can easily heal for 10k+ with Well of Blood.

First off, you do need 30 points into Blood Magic; selectables II, VIII, and XII. Recharge on your Well of Blood is equal to CC then, and it’s almost equal to CC in healing at that point. Ignoring the misnomers about +healing not working for necros (it does work), the more +healing you stack, the better the Well of Blood/Blood Magic heals. The next trick is 10 points into Death Magic (I run 25) and selecting Ritual of Protection (IV). At that point, with a 33% reduction in damage taken when you cast Well of Blood, it surpasses CC in terms of healing (and utility imo.)

Now if you add in the correct runes into your gear, you can make Well of Blood vastly better than CC (i.e. runes that boost boon/protection duration for RoP, runes that grant boons on heal, etc.)

Honestly, when I drop 3 wells with my spec/gearing, I become basically immune to melee damage from up to 5 enemies for a good solid 15 seconds. Wells wear off, pop deathshroud, last 15 more seconds, wells are off CD again, drop wells, rinse repeat. In a 1v1, 1v2, or even 1v3 fight, you can basically be near un-killable. Run 4 wells and it just improves.

Totally does depend on exactly how you’re specced/geared. Play-style can have an effect as well.

The good thing about CC in PvE is the fact, it ignores poison. That’s it.
Now, the other heals don’t have overwhelming advantages either, so pick whatever you like.

The only crime, turrets committed, is being good against the celestial meta.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.

I’d say it’s a good ‘default’ to have there.

BF Minion, is really good till the going get’s tuf, then it just die’s.

Well, if you got faster CD trait, is usually going to win over in a group situation.
(You can also use transfusion +DS4 as you run out of life force and it’ll heal you a little as well as others around you)

Deathly Invigoration – Prob still not worth a ‘DS Flash’ to try to save yourself/others. It’s still way behind say a guard’s heal when they dodge. (Tho, using DS to suck up some dam, while your real heals get off CD, and exiting DS just before you LF runs out, could be worth it. Tho full CD on DS makes it a double edged sword.)

Consume conditions is about only way to effectively play necromancer. Counting out minion Masters who have traits and staff/dagger offhand to do the job.

It is not that consume conditions would be that good healing skill, if it had any longer cd it would be pretty much impossible to play necro. If it wouldn’t remove conditions… well good luck dealing with cc and burn/bleed stacks.

Blood fiend just does mostly fit for a minion master and uhm.. well of blood actually does work but almost no one runs those builds which could use it, also then you would be immobilized forever in pvp.
