Does the Staff provide superior damage when using life blast? compared to the axe and dagger?

Yes the damage of lifeblast also depends on the weapon damage und since the staff damage is the highest of all main hand weapons necros have access to, lifeblasts does the most damage with staff. And like Bhawb said if you equip axe training the weapon damage of axe becomes roughly the same as staff and with that you get roughly the same damage.

Staff = Axe with Axe Training > anything else

Not roughly. Its exactly the same.

However the range of damage for axe is wider. So staff will hit for more consistant numbers but the axe can reach a higher potential number than staff if RNG is on your side.
