To make this thread go totally off topic, are you sure about the runes and sigils? Vampirism 4 triggers when a heal is used, which doesn’t really sygnergise with Blood Fiend. I’d also replace sigils of force with something else; our damage won’t be high anyway so 5% won’t do much. Maybe Blood Lust or Demon Summoning or some other on kill effect.

Finally, I’m not sure about Cleric’s amulet here. I’m pretty sure healing power doesn’t affect life stealing, so all it would really boost is the Blood Fiend. If you took staff the regeneration might be worth buffing, but with the weapon sets chosen we have no regen. I’d rather take Soldier’s amulet since vitality increases both your health and your life force pool

Other than that it looks like a solid build, pretty similar to what I used last time except I went 30 in Death Magic and 20 in Blood

More semi-off-topic: the 3 POV video from last week is currently processing!

I basically split the screen into 4 sections each showing a different player’s POV except for the bottom left corner. I had planned to move the focus from one player to another by making the most interesting fight larger, but I had to give it up since I wanted to get the video done today.

Simply put, to make one of the videos larger I’d have to scale down all the others and move them slightly. With just 4 things to scale and move it wouldn’t be too difficult to do, but since I also had the name texts there it would’ve taken ages. Next time I’ll first do the texts as a separate video so it’s easier to scale and move (or I’ll just show them in the beginning and then get rid of them), but for now we’ll go with slightly less fancy editing.

Apparently processing the video takes a while (“4% Complete, Estimated Time Remaining: 06:33:28”..) now that I’m doing multiple simultaneous scaled down videos, but I’ll upload it in rapidshare when it’s done. I can’t wait to hear all the comments about Bas suddenly learning to edit when it’s posted on the SOAC youtube channel :P

Friday is probably better for me. I may still be able to make it today. If im online and you need another today just msg me and I should be able to make it.

Sooo… I have mixed feelings about the episode today ^^

5x Lich Form, that was cool. Also, since the attendance at first was rather lacking, we now have 2 new BoC members.
One of them even recognized us from the other all-necro tourneys

On the downside: just 2 matches this time, and I don’t want to spoil anything but they weren’t really the most suspenseful games because the outcomes were so onesided.
Also I couldn’t talk half the time and there are some longer periods were we just stand around looking for another player… so my recording is rather boring, I think.
Yski will do an edited version though, I don’t know how his turned out but maybe we won’t show the entire match this time but just some highlights…?

@Bas: I’ll upload my rec to rapidshare, not for direct upload to youtube though but rather for yski if he wants to incorporate it into his edited version.

Thanks again for letting me join the fun.

If i can give you a suggestion for all upcoming events, it would be that
A team needs a leader for positioning and for targeting.
Just to have basic focus fire and to prevent uneven fights

The other is that even if a whole team is of one class or even one type of build
( power, condi, MM…) it will probably be mor eeffective to have some basic roles
Even if they just use diferent trinkets ( best example would be the full MM team could easily have one go berserker while others with soldier trinket).

It turns out my 3 POV video was too much for the editing program I used – 2 POVs from the final game are missing and so are my end credits. I’ll basically have to do it again, this time first doing 2 of the games and then using the resulting video as a single clip so it’s easier for the program.

I won’t actually be home this weekend, but I’ll try to take my computer with me so I can get everything done

Yesterday was a bit chaotic though, we were only 4 on mumble in the second match and I had to mute my mic half the time. But yeah, good coordination is half the battle.

EDIT: I also believe I’ve solved the problem that caused the first attempt to edit the 3 POV video to fail: the editing program was apparently trying to save all the temporary files on my 60gb SSD and ran out of space. I messed around the setting a bit and that should no longer be the case

How big is the file you’re uploading? Big files tend to take ages, so you might want to compress it a bit, something around 500mb to 2gb is usually fine. Then again, it always takes ages, I think 1,8gb just took me like 6-7 hours

Cant believe i missed this. What did you guys change on the MM builds?

..Actually, I’m not sure. I was using my own builds the whole time, but let me check the footage!

- Dolyak runes instead of ogre
- Superior Sigil of Leeching instead of Hydromancy
- Shadow Fiend instead of Bone Minions

By the way, could someone upload the 3 pov video? I don’t have access to SOAC youtube and it’s been sitting in rapidshare for a few days now. Not that a bit extra matters much considering it is more than a week old footage already, but it’d be nice to have it out.

EDIT: Nevermind, Bas suggested I upload it myself, which I’m glad to since I told my 26 subscribers (or a more realistic estimate, the one random person who left a comment) a couple of weeks ago that I have lots of cool things I’m working on and none of them are ready after all this time. Blame it on my pronunciation, being a perfectionist like me I’ll keep re-doing things until my computer commits a suicide or I learn to actually commentate :P

Long story short, a playlist will be added to the official channel later on.

Haha, yeah, the recent tournament, mother’s day, and spending all day Fri and Sat with the GF (You have to spend time away from the game sometimes).

Here is the way SOACGaming is going to work for future endeavors. We want to help everyone grow as a it will better suit the game as a whole.

1). Any personal videos taken during the events we promote or start are free to upload, we will create a playlist, and place your video on the playlist. This will give both the players a chance to get their name out, and we will have the opportunity for to incorporate a larger pool of viewers.

2). I do all the video editing myself currently, and I am really slow and not very good at it. I am a talker, a planner, and an organizer, but my limited skills with video editing is widely evident in the fact that our production value is subpar. I would love to have a volunteer who is looking to practice producing on our SOAC team, but I feel that the sheer amount of work involved would be a bit much for me to ask someone to do for free.

3) We are looking for an SOAC Rep on the EU side. We have a half dozen different things we are doing, and I can only do so much haha. I know that flow is helping to organize the BoC events, but we have quite a few EU wide projects that we will need help with.

Im sure theres a few out there who would be happy to form a video editing team. I would but i dont have much experience either.

I’d also love to do some editing, though I’m sort of limited in terms of time. I can’t do all of it, but a video or two a week should be doable.

Great, I was just about to ask if anyone has any footage they’d like to share with me. So, does anyone?

Unless I fail counting below five again, so far I have 3 POVs of Thursday games (Flow’s Emapudapus’ and mine) and soon 3 POVs of Friday games (Flow’s, Mine and tomorrow Nemesis’ as well). Does this sound about right, or have I forgotten someone?

Also, if you want me to link your channels in the video description you might want to send me your channel name or link or at least a cryptic message of some kind containing the clue I need to find them :P

As a side note, it turns out my mic is terrible. I happened to use an old partly broken school mic and it actually sounded better, so I decided it’s time to get a new one. I did a bit testing with my lovely new toy and now my speech sounds almost normal (though my pronunciation is still terribad :P)

As if that wasn’t good enough, we should no longer have any echo from my end since I went with a headset.
TL;DR: 1/5 of our audio is now a lot better!

So, it’s Thursday again. Does this mean I get to slaughter people now?
