Epidemic
It’s not like it matters in PvE so yes I would trade it’s death for better applications I always saw it as an unfortunate obstacle. We should keep condition/boon manipulation though it’s too potent but it’s not like corruptions are attractive anyways the only common ones now are Consume Conditions as always and Plague even Corrupt Boon faded.

If they delete Epidemic, I may just quit Necro altogether.
It’s my favourite Necromancer skill, it’s really unique to Necromancer and Epidemic was a prime reason why I got interested in Necromancer at launch.

Then make it more compatible don’t use a PvE argument anything can work in PvE, at this point Epidemic is just like engi turrets effectiveness>theme.

I use it mostly in PvP whenever I can, but it’s also awesome for PvE.
Wouldn’t say it’s not effective, just hard to use right.

I’d rather keep epidemic, thanks. It’s a very solid group skill when used properly.
And geebuz knows Necros need more group offense, because it’s definitely not on most of their weapons.

I just wish Epidemic wasn’t so “very corner case, much situational, wow”.
A reduction of cast time (for PvP), plus the new HoT PvE encounters, may put all that “on paper” awesomeness to practice.
With the insane burning there is atm epidemic has never been as strong!
Also, reaper may end up stronger at condition application.

The only time epidemic is ever semi viable is in the Halloween maze.
Maybe also the Queen Jenna’s Pavilian, but it’s been a long time. I forget.
The potentially strong use of epidemic never happens otherwise. Either mobs die too fast (Orr) or bosses don’t have adds (dungeons, fractals, world bosses), or pulling a lot of mobs is suicide (high level fractals).
Conditions all have big ramp up time, and epidemic is a long cast. Stuff just doesn’t live long enough for you o get damage out of the skill. (ie enough damage for you to Tag the mob and get loot)
If something strong exists on paper, but doesn’t exist in game, does it really exist?
Somebody in the other thread suggested that master of corruption hit not only you but nearby foes with the corruption in AoE. This would make epidemic more useable, because epidemic wouldn’t just be empty if used by itself.

I was thinking about how adding a passive Epidemic cast in Master of Corruption trait would make it more appealing since the skill is so rarely slotted.

Remember the times when people complain that they have no support skills? Epidemic is a Deeps support skill. Just think about it, A Guardian can apply 10 stacks or more of burning and all you need to do is spread that to everyone and boom…. you just wrecked an entire crew because you had Epidemic.
Very situational but very powerful in those situations.

I don’t like posts like this that involve removing flavor from the game. If you don’t like it, don’t use it. Coincidentally, it has its niches, CPC → Putrid Mark → Epidemic in high level Fractals. Master of Corruption, on the other hand needs a buff! Details inside my signature.
What they need to do is reduce the cast time to 0.5 sec (or even less). When I finally finish casting it my opponents already cleaned all their conditions. Also, they should revert back to 15 seconds of cooldown. The AoE condition application is really weak in the game, mainly because of AoE cleansing.
And all corruption skills feels rather weak (except for CC and Plague, of course). And their trait doesn’t help at all with the weakness of the skills.
If you are in an organized team with heavy conditions (burning in particular), epidemic is really amazingly powerful.
The one thing which is “unfair” is that it is now blocked to 25 stacks max of each condition transfer, which is somewhat weak for bleedings but super strong for burning.
I’d rather see it improved in some fashion so it’s valuable in all situations as opposed to just in groups.
Like increase the current stack of conditions applied to the target and then transfer that increased stack to up to 5 surrounding targets. Especially with the 25 stack limit now.
It’s purely situational. I don’t expect one skill to be used in every situation. Like SW. Go try it there.
