You mean, why is the profession that is built around dark magic, vampirism, that uses skills with skulls on them, and all their skill buttons are pretty much green…. oh and Reaper dark and edgy?

Many necros use very similar outfits. Way to many “hooded all blacks”. Also recurring motive are the wings. Its kinda silly if you ask me, but people seems to like it.

kitten and blast, why did I make my necro an asura… Doesn’t matter what fashion I get if I’m ant-sized.

I dunno. I change it up but it looks good and not everyone is obsessed with being a special snowflake. You can be dark but not be edgy, it just takes effort.

Dark is just cool. Plus power reaper is sooo fun.

I prefer scholar/high class vampire look, personally.

The story I’ve written about her has her as the child of royalty who committed suicide after her lover was executed by her father. Her father brought her back to life with a curse of eternal life, being an extremely powerful Necromancer himself, but was unable to break the curse before she murdered him for killing her lover.

She eventually became a teacher of the dark magics, often using taboo curses and spells that most considered to be malicious rather than helpful.

Because Ascii already won the bright and shiny competition.

Necro’s aren’t dark and edgy… Look at mine, just chilling in the setting sun, smiling and all..

I prefer the “all-white + a dead animal on the shoulders” look for mine.

Mine isn’t edgy at all in my opinion. I hope he is elegant and sober. I’m not a big fan of edgy/emo like characters in general. Actually, the lore of our class can explain why a lot of people chose such a style. What really make me laugh is all these eles/mesmers and guardian with a “deathkiller of doom hell” skin.

Corpses do tend to get green and blue really fast though. I’d guess white has more to do with color of bones.
