That’s how it’s done. Takes a lot of practice and timing to get it locked in on good players though.

True, but it is achievable on live players once you master it. I’ve feared numerous people off of cliffs, or into chokepoints with that strategy. Hell, I’ve even feared some of them into Svanir/Chieftain which makes me lawl. It’s much harder to do in 1v1s, however, due to the fact that they can then focus their stunbreakers specifically for you.
I’ve still not mastered it, sadly. I even think I gave up Spectral Wall because it didn’t fill the role I used it for pre-patch.

Well, if you need any help mastering something or becoming more skilled with Necro, you can always join my school. We’re up to around 6-7 skilled teachers, and 40+ students. I’d be glad to help you get into a niche.
Seems awful difficult to pull this off on a live player. I can see why you demonstrated on a NPC, because I would be the optimal rotation here would fail 9.9 out of 10 times. One stun break, one good disable on you, some aoe condition removal like a nearby save yourself or another necro with plague sig.
I think as time goes by people will realize tha not having that stun break or stability, or decent condition removal is no longer an option and they will change up utilities.
I will try to practice this in WvW, but I have been finding it incredibly difficult when thre are 4-5 peopl in the area who have necro hate in their heart. Seems to work better as an area denial tool for me (the wall), than a multiple fear opportunity on a single target.
The whole deal is based around that last doom, which supposes its a 1v1, so seeing as that is very difficult to do, I think I would rather save my doom for a heal interrupt.
How do you pull that off if the other guy expects you to pull it off? Moreover; when your foe knows to stay over 600 range away and pref +900?

I adapt to my terrain. If they are close by, I use the Spectral Wall. If they are at a distance, I’ll Deathshroud 2, Deathshroud 3, then Spectral Wall, Reaper’s Mark. I can trap them in a corner, knock them off ledges. It isn’t a set thing, and that is why it works against live players.

I did this to someone, he hit his stunbreak, and ran into the fear wall lol, I dodged in front of him, doomed him back into the wall, hit the wall, lulz dead.

Doom would activate my Reaper’s Protection, which would also kill them keeping in mind my build’s fear duration. Also, Well of Power would be quite viable, but I don’t know any Necromancers that are packing it.
Stunbreak+dodge roll past. Puts you between them and the wall. Chain of fear broken. Add in any stability and by the time you can remove it and reposition the wall is gone. It’s strong combo when pulled off, but requires a lot more skill on your side to pull off than it takes to break it.

Give it a week. I am sure that unless a hotfix swoops in ala-iceflame comic and mushes us in the ground, people will be looking for better ways to deal with multiple necros.
