Q:

So I’m rocking full exotic with mostly Power/Precision/CritDmg gear on my necro and for the hell of it I decided to use scepter on main hand and to my surprise feast of corruption was hitting really hard.

My highest last night was almost 5k with it on WvW (it was to sub 80)

This made me kind of scratch my head, why in the world is scepter that stacks condition as primary attack have really awesome skill that supports power/crit build?

Because it is a single crit from a single skill that takes a long time to set up.

Do the same thing with a Power/DS build, and you will have life blasts that crit for 4.1k on each hit when above 50% Life Force.

I guess what I’m trying to say is feast of corruption should scale better with condition build than power/crit build

Because Anet wants you to focus on power builds.

Because scepter is a hybrid weapon. The auto attack and skill 2 both feature direct damage on top of the dots.

Scepter is not a hybrid weapon. Every single weapon in the game has direct damage on 1.

Scepter 3 is just a garbage skill that is totally out of place on the weapon. It’s like they wanted to make it nominally connected to conditions but the damage bonus per condition is just too low. If they really want to make it a hybrid it needs to do way more damage or have a much lower cooldown or something.

It used to do more damage, but it was nerfed, if I recall correctly.
