Why do people take Death Perception over Foot in the Grave in meta condi reaper build? ( assuming Carrion amulet) I feel like FitG would be much better. I understand that DP is for damage. In Reaper shroud, you just need land your #4 to do damage. I don’t see the point of taking DP over FitG.

It’s straight up +25% damage increase, if you have no ferocity and no other crit chance, while in shroud. I imagine that pretty good for cleaving downed people idk.

Simple. Reaper’s Shroud has stability on its #3 skill, so you already have a source for that. Might as well take the damage increase of having a lot more crits.

Now why the CONDI build isn’t using Dhuumfire, I don’t know. especially on a reaper that has a much faster AA.

That isn that hard to answer. Deathly perception give more damage to the shroud burst combo while dhuumfire only works with the auto and as such is more sustained damage. Also depending on the matchup AAing your enemies isnt really a viable option thus diminishing the usefulness of dhuumfire. E.g. against a thief a more potent burst will do more for you then a better AA.

That depend also on a personal choice and each work in different situations.
If you think to need more breakstun and stability, Foot in the grave will grant you a good breakstun+stability useful against different CC spammer builds (like warriors) or to stomp if you don’t want to use Shroud skill 3.
if you think that you don’t need that extra defence, higher critical rate (expecially in a Condi Carrio build or to reach 100% critical rate in a Power build) will grant you higher damage with every shroud skill.
Dhuumfire grant Burn only on the AA and that’s the reason that make it not used in PvP

I personally find better to fight with Foot in teh Grave, but they’re both good Grantmaster traits.

Death Perception provides better spike than Dhuumfire, given you play Carrion amulet. If you run non-power amulet or go against comps with little conditon cleanse you can opt for Dhuumfire.

As a side note – Dhuumfire should have the visuals updates for Reaper, just like it got for Death Shroud. The fel-green projectile Life Blast looks sick, yet there’s no green scythe for Reaper.
