Third birthday gift gave us one free dye of any color. I don’t have any of the BLTC dyes unlocked, any suggestions for a color that would be fun to build a Necro-themed look around?

Literally any dye? As in any single one? Well, have that to look forward too. My two favorite dyes are enameled crimson and shadow abyss. All the enamaled dyes look really cool, so as long as you pick a color that fits your toon it should work out.

edit: now I figured it out. Your probably just gonna have to look through them all in your hero tab to preview the colors and choose from there.

Shadow dyes and the regular grey dyes are the only ones you can’t pick. I don’t know why they’re absent from the list.

Just get Electro Blue and be happy you have the most expensive one :P

Or Shadow Abyss if you want necromancer, universal AND expensive.

LOL electro blue isn’t very necroy though now is it. Honestly, these are the hardest decisions to make in this game.

I’m thinking either Swampblack or Caustic from the Deathly Dye Pack. Maaaaybe Toxin, but that might be a little too bright.

I like the Shadow Turqiose and its Dark Blue/Green look

The dye prices are currently very manipulated, both by traders and by anet.

Just get the one you want. Trust me.
I’ve got a mix of poisonous Greens on my sylvari, which looks like a rotting plant with her armor on.

I like the lion arch dyes personally, deep colors, good saturation, nice selection.

They are not as expensive as the electro dyes, but they are still up there. I plan on picking one of those once I get my unlock later today.

Necro theme are the toxic dyes. I use a number of the toxic dyes on my necro. swampblack, caustic, toxin, etc all can be made to look good.

ok fair warning I got the deathly dye kit, it’s not very necro-y at all except maybe the swampblack dye but I already had some really dark green/brownish dyes so… My suggestion, go to the wiki first, it has small previews of the colors on each armor weight.

Takes a bit to browse through them all, but not all of them are listed in the TP so this is the next best way to preview them

This. I have screwed with dyes before, when anything is this scarce it is 100% a controlled market by one or a few players who have bought up the excess supply and are slowly unloading the dyes at massive cost.

Man this is a tough decision. Also, the best way to preview is straight through the account. You can preview unlocked dyes.

This means you will most likely just get a common blue. Pretty bad if you ask me – 3 years and I get a blue dye for my efforts. Marvelous!

No, you get a special dye kit that lets you pick one of its exclusive colors.

It is an account bound thing, but yes you get any dye in the game, account bound, with a few seemingly random exceptions.

Those still for sale through the BLTC are not (yet?) an option.
