Try Nos’s cele cignets build, a soldier’s power build, or a zerker/maruader well build.

You too eh.
I’ve been trying to find something more satisfying than
http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-30;3sHkD0r3VI-K0;9;498A;0257036048;9;9;0Fpc6P7U (Done with rampager exotics)
But honestly, the ability to look for condi fields to step into is so much fun, particularly those threshers in SW with the torment fields. They’re free dps to me now.
I’ve been looking for something that’s as fun without the AI issues, and not as bursty as wells. This one proved to be fun today, it’s not as tanky, but big DS hits make it fun with the bonus that you’re relatively immune to condi when in DS. I haven’t fully nailed this one down yet(Spite GM, elite and all utilities TBD)

I can give some great ele specs that are non-mm… I can’t really say anybody I know is brimming with satisfaction at any necro build other than mm at the moment.

I can vouch for this. I run plague though to counter Rampage with blinds.
EDIT: Though my win rate with MM is higher atm.

Hm… Is it possible, do you think, to outlast the twenty second duration otherwise? I know Plague is the go-to counter, but with corrupter’s fervor, that’s 300 extra toughness after putting on the conditions. So… If wells are thrown down (not Power – need the stunbreak) and staff 5 and charge are chained, and perhaps Doom as well, would we have a chance? Even with their damage taken reduced so much, the power and sustain that my build has might be enough. It would depend on a lot of factors though, even if it would work.
Note: The only reason my MM build has better win rate is because I ran it more. This build is excellent in PvP from what I’ve seen

I’ve survived Rampage in WvW pretty easily without plague.
In PvP, I’ve never 1v1 a meta frenzy zerker rampage. Seems to only happen in team fights. As in most the people I play against save it for team fights. Did I survive or was Ignored?

I imagine if you were in a full life force situation and dropped all the wells, you’d be okay. Now i kind of want to duel a rampager to see what can be done
Signet build fares extremely well in the current meta, with boon-heavy classes that are easy to corrupt. Quite frankly, this even makes fighting against a rampage warrior manageable since stability can be corrupted to fear every 3 seconds or so (you might struggle 1v1 though since a good warrior would put up condi negation before going into rampage against you).
Standard power necro builds work alright, as long as it’s not in the competitive scene. But with this build your only real role in the team is to add some DPS, which at this point, everyone else can do too (often times even better than you can do).
Condition necro builds are…hard to play in my opinion. Condi necro is just lackluster atm, offering nothing particularly strong or special to the team other than some added dps/condi pressure.
Since you’re getting bored of MM, I suggest you play the Celestial Signet build posted above, or try a variation of it (like switching out soul reaping for blood magic or running marauder’s amulet or switching up sigils).
I dunno. I went through about a week and only lost twice. I think this MM build is causing my rating to go higher and probably giving me harder opponents because I almost never lose. I wonder what will happen when I go back to my more normal builds? Instant slaughter (that is, I will die because I am no longer playing this ridiculous build.)
Still, I had fun today. In Foefire, I immediately claimed waterfall, then went against their guild lord. One guy was wailing against me the whole time, but I just ignored him and killed the soldiers, etc. By the time I got to the guild lord, 2 guys were wailing against me. They finally killed me, but I killed the guild lord while downed. Lol. This was the first down, and it was all solo, just me.
I almost felt like I was trolling them.
Also, foefire points needs a serious revision. I had lowest point total for my team, but because of my work the team won. What gives?
Edit: Another favorite tactic is going to the enemies capture point and just camping it solo. Sometimes, you will get 4 guys going against you. As long as you can take it for a bit, it is really entertaining. So remind me again why tank builds aren’t in vogue any more? I only play PUG by the way.
Edit 2: I had been playing a celestial signet build before this. It was good. The only opponent I didn’t like with it was mesmers, because all of the kill endless phantoms and figure out who the real guy is with all of the stealth gets old. But I don’t think the celestial signet build can hold a candle in spvp with pugs (no idea what happens with organized groups—you guys have friends? Wow!) to a tanky death/blood/soul MM build.
Edit 3: I almost forgot the funniest thing. Also today, in a different match, I was soloing a point against a mesmer and an engineer. The engineer had deployed his turrets, and they were all clicking along. I was in death shroud, and was Moa’d by the mesmer. But as ineffectual little moa, I just kept pecking away at the engineer, and actually downed him. I don’t know whether this was incompetence on their part or brilliance on mine. If it was brilliance on mine, I have to admit that I was really just autoattacking the engineer as a moa, so it was probably subtle brilliance.
Edit 4: It was a good week. I probably can’t expect anything better any more, but I had a lot of fun.

Here’s a fun build I’ve been messing around with the past few days. Pretty much “Perma” chill / vulnerability spam.
Fast passed game play will be needed .
It’s a surprisingly survivable build that messes up the other teams skill-rotations and has a nice damage output depending on what amulet you going with.

Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I’ve been doing.
Just keep in mind that its really totally different from minion builds.

Interesting. I definitely haven’t played anything like it. You don’t have an elite selected. Plague, I assume? I will give it a try!
Honestly I’d say MM necro is better than condi necro in its current deplorable state. I mean the abjured ran MM necro for fun today and still won.
