Getting kicked from Fractal as soon as i join
Not sure how I can help with the prejudice but this is the build I use in pve. Good against large groups and bosses.
Bad Elementalist
We just have no team utility worth using or bringing in over the other classes. Nowadays people just want to go through dungeons quick and easy as possible, so that usually means classes that buff themselves and allies efficiently, or provides unique support such as stealth or the mesmer portal. We don’t have anything like that, yeah we’re tanky but most higher level bosses will one shot you, or just nuke your health to where you are barely living. We only have 2 dodges and no blocks, and blinds are useless on bosses so good luck with that.
I do agree it’s pretty ridiculous, but apparently this is the way anet wants necros to be…
Wait, why are blinds useless on bosses? Not ridiculing I just don’t know why they’d be bad.
Unshakable, makes blinds only 10% as effective, meaning you have a 1 in 10 chance of that boss not wrecking you. Also reduces weakness and vulnerability duration. It’s a passive buff that every champ and up has.

Aah that’s right, I had forgotten about that. 11% effective damage reduction isn’t too shabby, but blinds are hard enough to come by so that it’s not really worth it. Dropping a Well of Darkness and having quite a high chance of doing nothing to the boss? Bunk.
the thing is that conditions are just worse than boons in bossfights. Aegis works everytime not like blind and also protection has no decreased uptime unlike weakness. and blind is not a 11% reduction, it being not reliable means you have to dodge anyway or pray so it just doesn’t realy do alot.
never blinking “specialist”,
Necros are pretty good for safe trash clearing. So they are better in fractals than they are in dungeons. The problem is that the skills that are good for this are high cool down (Wells and CPC). And necros lack everything else which other classes dont. Weakness and especially blinds are highly used in high fractals against the big dangerous mob packs.
Other classes can often do these things better. However necro has them in the form of pulsing high radius skills. So in quick clears of very large groups they are actually better. Assuming you are not concerned about the cool down.

The problem with the “ive never had a problem…” statement is that it is solely based on your experience, and unless you have been playing this game for as long as some of us ( 7.2k hours for me)… Then your statement means absolutely nothing and offers little to the conversation.
When trick-or-treating, I do not get rejected from groups; maybe because all the groups are super-casual PUGs.
Anyway, I run a hybrid power/condi-corruption build and it does well, I think.
Dagger-war horn / staff with consume conditions, BiP, Epi, SoL for most candy farming and switch to WoC, Epi, and CB for the litch.
We need more utility or for the bosses to be reworked for less condi immunity and more adds.
i run necro in pve and do fine. they must be obsessing over your low AP score, low level, non meta weapons, and any combination thereof.
