I was previously running a hybrid build with around 2.1k power, 40% crit chance, 170% crit damage and 1200 condi damage.

Before the triple trait update, it was enough to fight against a diamond skin ele. Now, it isn’t nearly enough against a good one that has high protection up-time and manages his health well. Especially those cele or dire DS eles. Not sure what other traits they run. Water?

I recently fought 5 different DS eles in the span of 2 weeks. All in Tier 2.

Seems like it is quite a popular build now. cele/dire DS eles. Extremely tough, almost impossible for a full condi enemy to win. Puts up a good fight against full power builds too because of all the boons and sustain and relatively high HP/Armor. Also very good burning and physical damage.

I got tired of losing to one on my hybrid build. So I made it more power…XD
Here is a good powerish-hybrid build that uses…a SCEPTER. not a new concept, but I can attest that it is also very effective. And yes I can kill DS eles on this build…=D

I’m not sure if replacing the scepter with a dagger for a pure power build will make it better…but I find it more comfortable fighting with a scepter even on a powerish build.

maybe I can add some tips:

1)Do not use your Shroud fear and Staff fear while he is still above 90% HP.

2)Be ALWAYS ready to fear him the moment he drops below 90% HP and you see condis appearing on him. I cannot stress this enough. This is the make or break moment. Fear him to prevent him from healing back up above 90% and then start loading and bursting him with everything you got.

3)Use your shroud lifeblast and shroud 4 to bring him below 90% and break his Diamond Skin. Scepter auto is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Staff auto is possible but harder to full off an instant fear once he drops below 90% and also mostly he is in your face and hard for your auto to always hit.

4)Use your locust signet when you see protection boon on him. this is also very important. You must try to strip his protection boon. But this is really luck because usually they have a lot of boons and you can only strip 2…

5)Use your plague signet to transfer burns back on him whether or not he is below 90% HP…don’t let those burns tick =/

6)Eat Koi Cake to trick him =)
