I 100% support this idea. It adds versatility to the class while maintaining its power level. While we are at it, make us see our utility cooldowns while in the shroud.

Because what you suggest isn’t any alternative, so both Shrouds would’ve been baseline, I suppose? You wouldn’t annihilate all remaining non-Reaper specs with such change, wouldn’t you…or would you?

I am not agreeing with this suggestion, however you still need the elite specialization to use Reaper. And you can only have one elite specialization on at a time. So the most shrouds you can have would only be two regardless how many elite specializations are added.

I can’t make this suggestion work in my mind logically. Core Necro would be so underpowered in the Shroud department only having one shroud compared to two shrouds for any specialization build. Better to have DS be core only.

Anything else just over complicated the class and causes an internal class balancing nightmare.

The only thing that would work in my mind is universal Shroud utility skills, that carry over from shroud to shroud, that give them more versatility. That in itself would cause a major rebalance though.

The point of the elite specs wasn’t just to add things, but to change things. I’m quite annoying that, of the 5 elite specs shown, only 2 actually change the class mechanics, while 3 of them just add stuff on top of it.

The point of the elite specs wasn’t just to add things, but to change things. I’m quite annoying that, of the 5 elite specs shown, only 2 actually change the class mechanics, while 3 of them just add stuff on top of it.

That’s because they received 1H weapons if you receive a 2H it seems to get replaced so far except for war we are mostly sure the rest gets 2H weapons. That worries me for thief.

I think this is necessary, because Death Shroud #1 is our only decent ranged power option.

If they fix Axe & Focus, then maybe this won’t be necessary, but we’re at a disadvantage without Deathshroud #1.

So because something is broken, though we know its getting looked at, it warrants being able to circumvent one of the intended weaknesses of the spec?

I did not say that and there is another thread like this where I stated that improvements are being made to them. We shall see if it’s enough.

By the time they see no one will be taking base necro any more they will have no choice but to find a way to combine DS and RS. I am willing to bet they are going to do it after the next BWE

Unless i am mistaken the other elite specs adds on to the profession mechanic instead of replacing it. Why they choose to deny necro the same benefit i am struggling to understand. So odd, I really should be used to the way they treat the class by now.

In any case Reaper is a much needed upgrade, replacement actually since DS has nothing going for it except face tanking. At least Reaper is interesting and much better with the changes so i guess we will see how it plays in the next BWE.

Honestly later down the road, I think this will happen as the introduce more elite specializations. But for now, let’s just focus on RS. I’d like to have DS but it might also stop additional buffs/development for us on other fronts.

A knight in shining armor is a man who never had his metal truly tested.
