Hi Necro community,

I’ve been somewhat active this summer, and while most of you didn’t really know me or take me all that seriously, I just wanted to say that it was an honor to complain about how kittened up this class is, was, and always will be, with all of you.

The reasons for me leaving are simple: the hype from the feature patch, starting with the godsend ranger buffs disappointed me way too much when we finally got to necromancers. I honestly feel like the devs don’t really play, understand, or even care about this class. Secondly: I’m honestly just bored, anet is too slow putting out content, and the LS isn’t meaningful content. PvE bored me to tears, while WvW/GvGs/PvP are still fun, they are boring, and in the case for pvp, it feels like go cheese or go home, something which grinds my gears beyond all reason. I’m also getting too busy with grad school stuff and whatnot, as well as my anticipation for a few new 3DS games coming out this fall.

Anyway, I will still try to log in from time to time, and maybe post, but devoting so much of my life to GW2 is over, at least for now.

Message me if y’alls want to fight me in pokemon or something. Oh and I just want to give a few shoutouts to forummers here that I’ll miss.

Firstly, Spoj, you inspired me to try to change the pug pve perceptions of necromancers. And even though I may have failed by hating pve too much, and the necro balance changes being pitiful for pve, I just wanted to thank you for all the hard work you’ve done to making us understand the breadth of this class in PvE, you sir are truly a gentleman and scholar.

Secondly, Bhawb, you are the necromancer official representative, and I wanted to thank you for all of your hard work in getting information about the necromancer and the community out into the world!

Thirdly, NeXeD, my guildmate, my friend. Keep on doing what you’re doing. You’re honestly such an asset to [TB]‘s GvG team and I’m so glad that such a great necromancer will be there as I fade back into obscurity, although I’ll still try to do general raids with you guys when I can. I’ll never forget the sacred nights of incinerating edge pugs in our wells.

Also minor shoutouts to others such as Popolita, Muchacho, Lopez and Drarnor Kurnoram (spelling), as well as Zombify, Noscoc, and Xerreck. You all do our profession well.

So finally, I am glad to say goodbye to you all, and may you all show everyone how great necromancers can be in the hands of someone that is truly passionate about them.

(Although I might post on here occasionally when I’m bored out of my mind and don’t have GRE’s to study for).

Yep, Spoj and Bhawb really know our class well, but I have to wonder if even they still want to continue playing a necro after all this. The nerfs of all three of our elites, and the nerf of well of blood are pretty hard to swallow.

didn’t you know necro is the king of all classes? anet seem to think so and thus it deserves nerfing and nothing but each update =|………… as you can tell from my history im quite peeved at what has been going on and what has been ignored in comparison to what they think is op on necro’s (stances are perfectly fine lets buff them!) I think this update has killed any enthusiasm I have to play this game, the only other class I kind of enjoy is Mesmer but meh………

Haha, definitely. Check out this awesome Arabian city I’m building.
And that’s the thing. When ever there’s a Minecraft update, there’s ton of new features that make the game more fun. With GW2 however, it feels as if with each update the game becomes less balanced (especially regarding the necro), more grindy, and less fun to play. It is slowly moving closer and closer to a Korean grinder, and further away from their original designs. Is this the result of one disastrous producer making terrible decisions? I fear for the future of GW2. All my guildies and friends are quiting the game, and looking for either GW1 (UW run next Saturday), or Minecraft.

BTW, kudos to whoever recognizes the building in the picture below.

I moved onto play all other classes about equally over 6 months ago and had the necro mostly shelved except for LS and jade maw fractal. The last few months ive barely played the game at all on any class. The recent stuff is just more of an incentive to stay away. Ill be moving on to ArcheAge with some guildies for now. Anet will have to do some big stuff to bring us back.

Thanks for the shoutout btw guys. Really appreciate it. I dont deserve all the credit, much of what ive done and learnt has changed through discussions with you guys on these very forums. So good luck to whatever you guys do and i commend you if you are still able to stick with gw2 for the time being.

I don’t understand great big farewell posts.

Why do people have to say goodbye like they are dying and will never play the game again? Just take some time away, play something else, check back every once in a while to see if changes are happening then start playing again when it looks like some of your concerns are being addressed.

Not to mention that if you do come back it makes your post seem really silly and self serving. There is a reason why “farewell” posts are not allowed.

That’s your opinion and I don’t really mind. I’m saying my good byes for now to the community of this class.

There are a lot of great necromancers on these forums that I’ve learned so much from and I wanted to recognize them for that. I don’t care if I get infracted, for the time being I’m leaving.

So regardless of belittling me for this and complaining about it on my goodbye post, that’s totally fine, and I just wish that one day you and all the other dancing ebola stricken monkeys out there will find true happiness one day, and a real chance to smile, laugh, hold your hands to sky, and dance. Dance the dance of this beautiful and glorious life that has so much more to offer than playing GW2 all the time.

I think in this case, it is a bit of a different matter.

You might have noticed a larger than normal amount of farewell posts, and unhappy posts in general. There are quite a lot of things with this latest patch, that do not sit right with a large chunk of the players.

Nope, haven’t noticed more then usual. If a player is blaming the current balance changes, then they were not having fun anyway. in my opinion, they are simply crying for attention, with a diluted concept that if they can spam it all over the forums, that Anet will make changes that cater to them as an individual to keep them here.

I have a great time daily. My life is truly grand thanks……………As I make the majority of my income playing poker, I will take your suggestion and do a wild, hands to the sky, monkey dance from now on when I win big hands. But you can keep your ebola. (Why would you associate dancingmonkeys with ebola though, everyone knows we are immune to such insanity)

Thanks, I always enjoy my time in WvW. I hope you have fun in what ever your playing as well.

Going to enjoy some great group healing out put on my necro commanding there tonight.

You could also see it in a different light: Perhaps these players were already struggling to swallow some of the other recent changes to the class, and were really hoping this big patch would finally address the crucial problems with the necromancer class. After all, Anet’s balance team did say their goal was to improve necromancer survivability, and the recent poll showed that necro came out pretty much on top of the classes that needed fixing…. yet they were fixed last, and had the shortest feedback time.

It is entirely possible, and probably not a stretch, that some of the necromancers announcing their departure from the game, have been struggling with the way Anet was handling their favorite class for quite a while now. This might have been the straw that broke the camel’s back.

For quite a while now the necromancer community has been trying to get Anet’s attention. To make them aware that the class really does need a good look at. That it is in a sorry state, especially in PVE. But if this is the outcome of months of debate, then I can see why many people consider this the final nail in the necro coffin. I know it is for me, I haven’t played for months.

And why should that be ? Do you think that the Necromancer patches are so exceptional good that complaining about them is pure heresy ?

This patch as a whole is underwhelming for 6 month of doing nothing. And a few changes (WoB, Plague, FG) are i don´t know how to say it without risking an infraction, let´s say “not very intelligent implemented”.

So please stop beeing such a Fanboi and go to your profession forum to troll there.
