Grasping Darkness missing a lot?
I’m not having any issues in PvE or PvP. If it fails to hit, it’s always because they dodged, blocked, or blinded.
Pulling the full length is another story, but it’s pretty clear to me why it doesn’t pull the full distance when it fails.
Anyone else managed to get like 4~5 hits out of this skill though?
Haven’t had an issue with it missing except when it misses for a good reason. The pull distance is just kinda an issue with pulls in general.
The GS5 miss quite often when you’re not on a flat soil. But it doesn’t help that half mobs have breakbar and the other half dodge like hell^^.
Also you rarely grab them the whole distance for some obscur reason.
Wich made me wonder about the CD of this spell. Too long imo but I can see why it has to be long. It would be ok if we could trust him.
This skill is still terrible because it doesn’t pull like it’s advertised. When it works, it’s glorious, and it interrupts. When it doesn’t work, I just want to rage. I mean the whole idea to this slow, immobile monster is so we get to pull and keep people within our melee range. If the pull isn’t reliable, then the whole design idea is moot.
As-is, other classes have too easy of a time kiting. Yes we seem to be doing “well” but I attribute it to people not really understanding Reapers or knowing Reaper/GS combat animations.
All pulls are buggy, nothing that can be done about that without a fix to pulling in general.

Yup, which is why I’ve always said the design idea for necros/reapers to “pull” enemies to us just doesn’t work. It sounds great on paper, but it doesn’t work due to limitations to the mechanics and how buggy pulls are.
Time to put that design idea aside and perhaps give us the mobility we need, since pulling people to us doesn’t work well.
Pulls are not buggy at all.
Binding Blade and Temporal curtain are pretty reliable pulls. If they make Grasping Darkness work like temporal curtain or binding blades, it would actually be useful.
Played a match on the Khylo map yesterday and my team pushed so hard we ended up at the enemy’s base. While there, a ranger was trying to pick us off from up on the ledge (because of course.) I figured GS 5 probably wouldn’t work on such a high-up target, but eventually I just thought “what the hell” and tried it. Put simply, there was both a surprised ranger and reaper when it actually worked.
So, yeah. Even though it still bugs at times, the overall mechanics of it are great. Quite nice to have a pull on one of our weapons, finally
