In this topic i will explain the basics of what you are and what you do as a support necromancer.
Armor set:i advise clerics
For runes there are various choices but some are expencive at the moment like the runes of mercy.
Runes of the flock are relatively cheap for now and add to your healing power.

How those stats affect your skills:
Wells are currently ignored somewhat but i am sure no one would ignore a 6k heal overtime well of blood when he is loaded on conditions.
And as a bonus it off it comes with a free 1,5k (can be more than that)aoe heal from the runeset in a larger radius.
And bonus #2 it also provides a remove condition field.
Well of darkness and the other wells provide theyr own effects plus provide a lifestealing field which again helps your silly teammates stay alive longer.
Unfortunately lifestealing doesnt have a huge rate with healing power (0.1) BUT as long as it keeps your teammates alive longer than the enemy dudes it is a good sidebonus.
The general use outside keeping your allies alive is in combination with marks to manipulate the footing.
While not as damageing as a glass cannon well,with vampiric rituals you can also do dmg but you will get healed per target siphoned.
Drop 4 of them and there isnt an assasin that will manage to kill you anytime soon as long you arent sleeping with your back turned at him.

Weaponry:
Staff for the obvious control and that nice regen you drop to your allies because there is always some silly enemy that will charge into your mark range.
Also marks serve as stealth detection since you can see the enemy getting hit by the damage overtime.
For alternative i suggest an axe and a focus,because in world vs world there is always that immune keep lord that needs vulnerability stacked on him.
Axe provides a constant vulnerability stack and the focus provides a chain regen and vulnerabity in one skill and boon removal in the other.
So you will be on staff mode most of the time,and switch to axe and focus for the objectives.

Traits:
Here you get the basic trait placement for support,it doesnt stop you from tweaking it to your needs.

Blood magic:30 points
Ritual of life-Vampiric rituals-Ritual mastery
You drop wells in a shorter time and they do help you stay alive even under fire that would make a warrior cry.
But thats as long the wells are up,from there you need to get breathing space till they cooldown.

Curses:20 points for focused wells would suffice,plus we get chilling darkness as an added bonus
What chilling darkness does is to chill when we blind someone,and for that we got the Plague elite.
Plague turns you into a circle if you spam #2 that blinds and slows enemies inside the circle.
You can use plague in a variety of situations that involve a large number of enemies ranging from covering retreating members to offencive chargeing and blindlocking enemy melee.
And then there is also the plague spike tactic where a party of necromancers can simply make an enemy 60 man zerg hate necromancers as much as they hate thieves and theyr bug abusing .

Death magic: 20 points
With ritual of protection your wells will provide protection on demand.
And greater marks will increase the area of staff skills and since we use mark of blood to spread that nearly 2k regen in 6 seconds that is something we need as well.

Tips:
When the situation calls it you can always switch a well out for spectral grasp or spectral walk.
Nothing is funnier than flinging an enemy straight to your allies from his high and mighty wall,and even funnier if he dies from fall damage.
Mark tower gates/choke points when you are defending ,that crew of ram users outside is begging to have theyr boons turned into conditions and they enjoy triggering the mark dmg so you can hit the rams as well.
And if they go for the wall you ask?
Then get your rear off the door and go on the wall where you can toss marks and wells much better and more efficiently since you can see the enemy.
Marks are your best friend at scouting/blocking paths,and the enemy is afraid when he sees too many red circles.

And final word
Supporting at the moment is not rewarding since you dont get badges in world vs world and takes ages to kill something in pve.
Heck you dont even get a thanks when you heal people.
And last i would like to see some official responces about this guide and what they think.

Vampiric Rituals is quite weak. I’m somewhat convinced you made this guide out of paper information rather than actual testing because chilling darkness does not work with the blinding plague.

Plague also won’t stop 60 people because of the AoE limit of 5, not to mention the blind is actually applied per second, and theres bound to be people shooting at you from outside of your aoe area.

i didnt make the guide out of paper information but from what i found convinient to use to help others.
Yes i forgot that chilling darkness doesnt work with plague,doesnt that sound natural with all the bug infested trait lines of the necromancer?
I would sit and argue further with you but there is one line up there that said the post is actually some basic stuff.
But thanks anyways for beeing a kitten.
Il wait your more constructive and in depth guide to guide me away from that silly plague that allows me to go through entire zergs ccing whatever i consider threat to my allies.

im in the progress of making a support necro movie and personally for tpvp and spvp the only thing i do i would go another route. the lack of stability is really hard on support class like a necro without any innate stability especially for stomping and life transfer ressing but i got another talent that helps me with ressing.

I don’t spec anything in curses myself i think its a useless tree for support necros.. fury does nothing chilling darkness is kinda meh and the placed wells are just as good as normal wells once you get a bit of practice with wells. i would either spec into soul reaping for stability and mark of revival or more into deathmagic to get more toughness and boon duration wich will go restoration and every other buff you toss out with some boonstacking and the right runes you can make mark of blood heal for 2400+

oh and also try to chill out a bit dont take everything that people have to critizise personal.. its just a game afterall.

Thingy is when it comes to w3 you dont go to place wells yourself,especially when it involves going into arrow cart or cannon range.
When you go infront of a tower and you are peeling people out of,if you go closer and lose view of the ledge it might prove a bad move.
Marking at 1200 and welling at 900 is something that does feel safer and allows to get the hang of it.
As far stability,thats a yeap there but i dont think necro needs it outside plague.
And i didnt take it personal or got mad,i was just beeing funny there.
The kitten in the post isnt a filtered word,if thats what you thought it was.
back to subject,i was getting somewhat worried that necros had lost the good old utility they had but i was wrong it seems.
