Have corruptions give resistance
This is a great idea, instead of MoC giving an extra condi have it give like 2 seconds of resistance, although it would certainly cement cc as the only necro heal again.

To be fair all the other heals are bad.
Then the concept of paying a price doesn’t really work because you’re immune to conditions. If corruptions aren’t worth their price, they should have stronger effects. That’s the only way to go.

A master of corruptions shouldn’t pay any price because they know how to deal with the side effects of these supposedly “powerful” abilities.

Or maybe the master of corruptions is an especially reckless necromancer willing to dig deeper into the dark arts for even more dangerous magic than the typical or sane would dare.

Stop calling for nerfs. Corruptions don’t give nearly enough incentive to justify such a thing.

Well I just said in my other post that the effects should be buffed in response to this idea that the costs should be reduced. It makes more sense thematically to buff the effects. A high price for a powerful effect.
Just merge it with PoC without the additional debuffs, reduce it to 20%,make Consume Conditions 25 CD again and think of better effects if they don’t want Mallyx to suck as well.
The Dhuumfire thread
Them simply making corruption skills apply the corruption to us and up to 5 nearby enemies would solve the problem too.

That sounds crazy awesome.
I think resistance on corruption skills defeat the purpose of having the conditions applied to the necro. We do need a source of resistance, but I think other utilities are where we should find them (like shouts). Though, I think cool down reduction for an extra condition is underwhelming. Maybe if corruption skills became instant cast or had reduced cast times in exchange for the extra condition.
There is no real way MoC can be made to compete with Terror and PoC without it getting a really strong effect of some kind.

-33% Cooldown Reduction is huge though. Having a 20 second cooldown on Consume Conditions and a 26 second cooldown on Corrupt Boon is quite good (allowing corrupt boon to compete with Path of Corruption since it is unblockable and corrupts more boons at once). Not to mention plague’s cooldown is reduced to only 120 seconds. MoC certainly competes with Terror and PoC in some builds as it is now.
The only thing I hate is the blind on using consume conditions.
Dont really like this suggestion.
Self hurt is an important part of corruptions and simply negating that part is pretty lame. There must be another way to make Master of corruption worth it.
Atherakias suggestion sounds good tho. Something similar to spectral mastery or banshee’s wail, extended duration of the effects, might work too.
most Corruptions still need a buff on default tho.

The only corruption that was buffed enough to justify its conditions is BiP IMHO.
CC has become troublesome to use as the main benefit of the skill was wiping away all conditions when used with MoC now it puts 2 really nasty conditions on you which defeats the reason for the skill. I’ve switched to a more wellomancer since the patch and what they did to CC really helped make up my mind.
If they made all corruptions boost allies (Like BiP did) then they’d be worth it. CC should either remove conditions or heal allies, Corrosive Poison should provide Fury, Corrupt boons should transfer boons to allies, Epidemic should grant resistance to allies and Plague form should grant random boons to allies every pulse.
Then corruption Necros would be much more sought after in groups.

BiP is garbage, it’s actually worse than before. 8 stacks for 8 seconds is not even worth it. An ele with a fire field on his own without using utilities can give his group 12 stacks for 10+ seconds.
I far preferred the high single target might stacks over the pitifully short group might on a considerable cooldown.
It’s even worse considering all a group needs is for a warrior to 100b something and the group is at 25 might stacks permanently.
I think MoC should make corruptions grant 1.5 sec of quickness and 10% CD bonus for each condition on you after usage, in addition to the extra condition. This, along with buffs to the base corruptions, would probably make them viable while sticking to the theme. For individual corruption buffs, I’m thinking…
Corrupt Boon corrupts all boons, cast time increased to 3/4 seconds.
Epidemic spreads conditions on all foes in the areas. Vulnerability increased to 5 stacks and cooldown increased to 30 seconds.
Corrosive Poison Cloud blocks projectiles.
Blood Is Power applies might for 15 seconds and has a cooldown of 20 seconds. Cast time reduced to 1/2 second.
