Someone on Reddit did all the tests. My Vampire Necromancer build might get thrown into the trash now.

Yeah, Vampire Necro never has been viable and unless changed, never will be viable. I stack full Healing Power as the main stat in all my gear and didn’t even know it affected Life Siphon at all.

It’s amazing for Well of Blood and regen (such as from Staff’s 2) though. It can make you really tanky and really good at healing allies.

Just ignore all those siphon traits. If you are taking 20 pts in Blood for something else, you get the free super small siphon per attack and aside from that the dagger’s 2 button heals a couple of k damage, but beyond that it’s an absolute waste.

+Healing really ought to scale with the self-healing traits. No idea why it doesn’t. Probably one of our 100 bugs.

I would say it’s intended for healing power to not affect life steal, but since it does for Thief Venoms. =[

You shouldn’t have told me this. Now I’m more upset.

The class feels as if it is still in a beta process: a lot of traits simply do nothing because they could potentially be op. So much for product quality

I think another thing to add “and yes i am VERY upset about not being able to go vampire…like a cool vampire tank build” but the INSANE amount of long casting times on the majority of our utility and weopon options. This is not the case on other classes and i’ve considered it a balance issue but i dont see where necromancers abilitys are more powerful than others. Instead it leaves us wide open to interrupts and requires us to temporarily stun ourselves to cast a spell on someone. This would make sense if these abilitys were incredibly strong.

TBH…i think the amount of casting time requiring abilitys should be cut in half as i like the twitch style game play i get with the other professions. Necro feels sluggish in comparison because of this. (play all the profs for a bit you’ll see what i’m talking about)

I find health siphoning abilities to be really fun on the Necro. Healing through wellls, life siphon, siphon on crits, minions healing you, and other healing traits wet my whistle. It’s a shame they’re so underpowered that they’re not worth focusing on.

I agree. Even though my necromancer isn’t that high yet, I’m still thinking of a viable lifedrain like build.

Health siphoning is fun. Very fun. That’s why I’m still using it. But it honestly needs a buff or I haven’t figured out a proper trait combination. Eventually I’m going to try 30/0/0/20/20 and 20/0/0/20/30.

Gee, that’s actually kind of disappointing as I thought they where giving it a look-in.
Guess my nice shiny dagger will stay in off-hand a while longer.
