I’ve been trying to figure out what stats I want for my Necro, now a days I just pug for WvW with random commanders and occasionally join a Guild Rally from my server. I don’t really see myself roaming too much and I don’t particularly like GvG so I rarely, if ever do that. The issue I’m having is that I don’t know how much of a stat is too much for my playstyle, I don’t enjoy zerker since I’m so squishy and I like to go deep with our commanders with Death Shroud to Torment a large amount of players followed by Plague Form for CC so I know what I want a tanky build. Here’s what I’m currently working, already have full ascended armor and working on some jewelry.
Stats:
2500 Power
1950 Toughness
23k HP
29% Crit
181% Crit Damage
That’s not including the WvW bonuses, so I’m willing to lose a bit more HP if you guys think it’s too much, or maybe the toughness runes? I don’t know, I’m open to changes if they make sense. One thing to point out also is that I notice a lot of builds don’t use permanent sigils, I’m a big fan of the accuracy since it makes up for the lack of precision and I think 25%-30% is a good spot to be at for non zerkers.
For the most part necros are in the GWEN meta for the big well bombs. So you want to maximize your power and crit damage, while having enough vitality for lifeforce. If you aren’t comfortable with the above build, feel free to change it up and tank it up if you want. A build like above is more than enough for you to roll plague into the heat when commander asks for it. You just need to watch your positioning, as positioning is the #1 thing for necros in WvW ZvZ.

You’ll find that I get into middle of the action quite often, I don’t shy from heat. With Blood Magic you get great sustain and it’s actually good dps increase from the siphons.
