Admit it: most of us dislike being stuck investing into spite with its terrible minors and grandmasters, but we all do it anyways. We need the power and condition duration too much.

Admit it: most of us kinda want to play with some of the blood or death traits, but don’t because healing power and boon duration are worthless on a necromancer.

Who else can’t wait to dump spite?

Plus the new changes will give us access to 9 minor traits and 9 major traits.

You’ll be able to take deathly percption, dhuumfire, and (for example) withering precision to make sure that your life blasts hit with fire and have a cover condition.

You’ll be able to fit unholy sanctuary in any build easily, and experience the extra sustain.

And less face it, if the blood line stays worthless, every necromancer will have 3/4th (3/5ths with expansion) of all of the traits available in every build

I cannot say I hate Spite.

What happens to the secondary attributes of all trait lines have me a little nervous, though. Will condition duration, for example, be tied to a particular specialization? If so, will it be tied to a specialization with little benefit on purpose to prevent God Modes?

If I had my way, I would pick which utilities, stats, and traits all separately to make the most out of them. That is why traits and stat trees are intentionally scrambled.

Most likely still be specing in spite for close to death. But yeah the change is nice. It gives all classes more trait flexibility without worrying about stat investments.

The secondary stats like condi duration seem to be going. I expect they will just add them through new gear sets or other means.

It wouldn’t surprise me if stat conversion minors were merged/replaced. Doesn’t make a ton of sense for Death magic, for example, to convert Toughness to Power when it no longer gives Toughness.

They say stats, which I assume will include things like condition duration and class specific stats now, will come from armor as well as a generic increase dependent on class. This isnt a big leap as most MMO’s have not attached trait/skill lines to stats previously anyway. Just dumbs it down a bit if anything. But I appreciate they need to keep mixing it up to keep people interested.

Spite losing the stats does definitely make it less appealing. I think it’s good to focus just on traits, although personally I only used stats as a tiebreaker of sorts.

I cannot help but consider stats like condition damage, duration, and whatnot may be tied with progression and/or specialization.

For example, if there is a Spectral progression track, duration of the skill and it’s effects may depend upon the character’s progression and the number of points allocated to that track.

The stats were never a consideration for me. I always looked at them as a bonus. But that said, I really hope we don’t see a dedicated stat for things like condi and boon duration. While these somewhat exist, the loss of the other stat to make room for these is simply not worth it. Especially while things like food and other consumables exist.

I honestly think we’ll see these types of benefits rolled into the other traits. A trait in the condition line that increased condi duration by 30% for example.
