Just looking for some information, of how a necro does in WvW? Are they fun? I’m just looking for a fun class to play in WvW that I will feel is making an impact, necro seems cool and epidemic sounds awesome against a zerg, but will conditions net badges and loot?

I like mine. I have tried a number of other classes and find the Necro to be my favorite in WvW.

If you go well build your aoe and tower defense is insane. You are naturally a tankier caster than the other two options, but you also have nearly no escape tools. Most you can hope to do is trick people with spectral walk and you have to give up a utility to even try that. You are very weak against siege/doors and stuff because its immune to conditions so all you get is your auto attack. You can lay down aoe and keep people off, but gonna need help destroying it.

I have had no problem getting badges and loot thru the use of epidemic. Keep in mind that skill has a 600 range effect so it may be less than you expect (I still use it nearly always).

It’s one of the places we really excel, if I can honestly say that a class can “excel” in WvW.

My mantra is that WvW isn’t about classes, it’s about siege and team work. Individuals tend not to make a lot of difference, even in the large zerg vs zerg skirmishes (though some people really think they do, and I think they’re deluded).

With siege and team work aside as the obviously most important aspect in WvW, I’d say necromancers (conditionmancers specifically) are one of the best WvW classes for their long staff range and their heavy AOE condition manipulation.
