I’ve recently watched another of Nemesis’ five star videos on his re-work of the conditionmancer, here , and as usual he goes into a lot of depth about the choices he makes. However with all due respect, there are some things I don’t necessarily agree with about the build. So using his overall model, I decided to tweak it a bit to include what I believe I personally need, with the obvious cost of getting rid of some things that would otherwise be beneficial to me to an extent. Now, before you see, you’ll notice that a lot of the eqiupment is exotic and not ascended, why is that? I made this off of the resources I have available to me instantly. While I am not saying ascended is not worth getting, it is something that I can not easily pick up off of the trading post and/or make like say an exotic piece of jewelry. Another thing you’ll notice is the lack of food. Why would I not use food? It’s not that I won’t but I want to show the stats without temporary boosters.

One of my primary questions is, would you say Dire is better than Carrion for this build? I would think that toughness would be more helpful to me than power. And as a side note, this is indeed a terrormancer, so without further ado: Final Result

Alright, let’s see… you changed:

1. Staff Mastery instead of Shrouded Removal.
2. Dire gear (plus chrysocola jewels) instead of Rabid.
3. Necro runes instead of Mad King.

Is that everthing? I really wish Nemesis’ guides would include a build calculator link, it’s such a pain if you want to look up some little detail and have to skip through the video to find it :/

So first of all: food is part of the build, not just a “temporary boost”. You have it all the time and therefore plan your build around it. Why is this important? Because with +40% duration food and Master of Terror your runes exeed the 100% mark.

@1: Approved.
In fact, I don’t agree with half of the traits Nemesis is using, but I don’t want to get off topic…

@2: Dire vs Carrion vs Rabid:
It all depends, but for a build that gets +30% crit dmg from soulreaping it’d be a shame not to up your crit chance along with it. Usually I’m not a fan of Rabid, but in this case I’d say it’s the front runner.
If you really want to go with that Dire setup then I suggest you rearrange your traits to create better synergy, and also go with Scavenging runes instead of Necro.

Dire + Scavenging = win.

Chrys in everything else.

I’m rocking 30/30/0/10/0 (MoB on dodge) at the moment, but I’ve also found 0/30/20/0/20 to be good fun in Dire.

I have noticed the crit damage opportunity, but as I’ve said, would a condi necro really care about crit damage? Unless I am missing something. But even though foot in the grave is a very nice skill, should the final 10 go back into the crit tree?

Ah I see, so it seems dire is the better set for this then at least until someone else objects to it.
