Guild Wars 2

I’m trying to finish up leveling my Necro solely for WvW/PvP purposes and I’m not sure how to properly setup a Hybrid build. Coming for a Warrior main I’m still a bit lost as to which are the best traits/utility skills/gearing setups given that Necros are so much more diverse in their loadout options. I’ve done most of my current leveling in WvW using a Spectral build mainly due to its survivability. If possible I’d like to use something along those lines once I reach 80.

I’m not sure how I’m supposed to gear it. I’m still using the WvW vendor gear (power+vital) for the time being so I haven’t really worried about it so far. I’ve also seen many different dual wielding combinations, is Axe/Dagger good or should I change it to something else? I want to keep the staff as my secondary set though.

Hybrid means conditions and power…. that build is a power spectral build.

I use 6/6/0/0/2 with scepter/focus and staff in full rampager. Been using full rampager necro since about 3 months after game release and rarely lose 1v1s, 1v2s are usually do-able unless one or both of them are cheese builds, and have even won a few 1v3s and 1v4s. Pretty much any trait set-up with 6/4/x/x/x is good for hybrid though, just depends on what you prefer.

First you must decide which way hybrid should be. Do you want to go for more of a condition centric approach or a power focused build?

In either case, necromancer has some “must-have” traits, like chill of death. I think you should ask @flow what he runs, he runs a pretty decent wvw-hybrid roaming build, leaning toward condition damage. Me too, but in… a different way. I use Carrion & Rabid gear with staff, axe and offhand-dagger, while he uses staff, axe and warhorn. I think, if I remember correctly, he is completely carrion with soldier trinkets.

My traits are 6,4,4,0,0,0 with spiteful spirit, chill of death and dhuumfire, weakening shroud and terror, and staff mastery and greater marks. It’s pretty ok for killing about anything that comes along.

This is basically what I’m running for about a year now. Provides ok utility and if played right, can kill about anything. High chill uptime, great condition damage. It’s a pretty old build, so you might wanna fiddle around with it and try stuff. Haven’t kept up with all the rune and sigil changes, but it still works fine for me.
