I am just curious abt who uses minions
It’s kind of hard to tell, but here’s what it looks like you’re saying:
“I’m a player with a lot of experience across multiple professions. I already have a way to play my Necromancer that doesn’t use minions and works pretty well for me, so I can’t imagine minions being helpful. So why do you guys use minions?”

It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
In pvp, wvw, A minion master sux. IF ONLY YOU COULD SUMMON A MINION RIGHT AFTER THEY DIE WITH 0 COOLDOWN with the effect of life force from the necro. . Of course the secondary abilities will still be on cooldown even after you summon them, but this would make them useful in pvp. No elite just regular minions.
I know this idea sounds kitten but someone does not want minions to scale with power or hp, that would make them way too op. This idea actually sounds good in my head lol.
i forgot to say is the fact my necro is my main, in wvw whenever i get killed 1/2 times i will log my necro, i been playing from beta and also in gw1 i was a necro, am just asking cas i am afraid they will fix minions ai n everything abt minions in next patch but we will get nothing actually, so i just wanted to know how many actually using minions and how they r succeeding ? so i can learn their way ? personally i dont want minions to get fixed rather some other improvements is welcome but i “MUST” be wrong, so please enlighten me, what i am missing here ?
I use minions, it works well for me. I don’t know what else you are getting at…
well i am using minions and trying to use the spells exactly trying to time n all i will keep posting here my experience, pve its awesome atm with minions
Changed to minon/vampiric build and they works for me . i use blood fiend for constant heals , Well of power and Flesh golem all the time .
If i have people who land fields a lot i use bone minions for blasts ( and extra poison fields) , if i know boss is stationary , i use Flesh wurm ( does 550 – 570 dmg , tested in TA exp)
I use minions for everything on my Necro except WvWvW. I can’t seem them being very good in teh zerging aoe fest that is WvWvW.
@Vagelis. Tank Minion builds are amazing :P. Flesh Wurm actually does significantly more damage than you stated. Remember TA is downscaled to the appropriate level. I have watched my Flesh Wurm kill off Thieves and others in tPVP. Bigger issues are aoe bosses that wipe out any and all pets.
I just use flesh wurm, its the only one that behaves lol. And its damage isnt half bad I agree.

i know , just not used in other dungeons . TA has many stationary bosses or safe areas. In pvp i use a corruption / well build with marks , but im intrigued to try vampiric master too.
Minions are useless in 1v1 against anyone that kites. Your minions just run around in circles and never hits the enemy. The only thing that can get them is the flesh golem’s charge. Everything else either doesn’t hit or doesn’t deal much damage.
In zerg vs zerg though, minion aren’t too bad in the chaos IF there weren’t that 10 second delay before they start fighting.

The Minions are really strong in several Dungeons.
AC – except Kohler, Troll, and Traps. The rest they rock through though Spider boss can cause some issues. Flesh Wurm shouldn’t die on any of those fights or any boss fight in most cases.
CM – Turmaine is awful for any pet build. Frost and Wahlen are a bit of a headache because of their aoe and directional blasts that can one shot pets.
SE – It’s been awhile, but I seem to recall Mark 1 and Mark II golems being a major issue as well as the Prototype’s causing some Minion wipes.
TA – Greater Nightmare Vine can be a headache and you could own it. It’s all up to placement of those cursed bombs. One of the nightmare tree paths is tough.
CoE – Subject Alpha used to cause headaches, but they said it’s fixed.
HoTW – No major issues
CoF – No major issues only rousing success.
Arah – Lupis though they fixed some of the issues. I haven’t really brought the MM into all of them yet.
Fractal of The Mists – I haven’t seen any issues so far, they die as often as everything dies, and help in some fights.

You have it backwards. Minions crush 1v1 and eat kiters for lunch (you do realize you have multiple minion utilities), and die quickly in zergs.
I use minions all the time,….then remember why they don’t work and put them away until I forget again and get nostalgic for my little rotten friends… >.>

I always use minions in PvE.
Always in dungeons (I mostly do Arah, CoF so can’t speak about other dungeons, and of course I have another build for Lupi).

It’s true that minions’ skills aren’t very good but I disagree with what you said about kitters. 3# dagger skill and the enemy cannot dodge Charge, Bone minions’ booms and other stuff you can put on him.

I was using Spectral Grasp to pull the enemy, then Golem’s charge, then 3# dagger. If my minions didn’t eat him, the zerg did it anyway.
I don’t like PvP but if somebody wants to fight minions in 1v1, PM me in game.
