This makes your team practically immune to conditions as long as you’re alive. I didn’t realize, upon first reading it, that it passively sucks the conditions off all nearby teammates and puts them on to you. This gives you an almost endless pool of conditions to throw back to your foes (pve OR pvp) using spammable deathly swarm/staff #4/or plague signet itself.

This is a very powerful ability. Permanent cleanse on your whole team.

Anyone want to discuss the merits of this signet?

It currently doesn’t remove conditions from your allies, you just get a copy of theirs.

Salix Babylonica (Necro), Tharnath (Guardian), N Faculty (Mesmer),
Occam Pi (Ele), Acaena Elongata (Warrior), Finja Salversdotir (Ranger),

Oh, that’s bad news indeed. That’s a horrid bug.

It’s also the only stun-break Necromancers have that isn’t terrible(Spectral Walk) and on a reasonable cool down(Lol Spectral Armor).

I do hate that popping it to not eat Hundred Blades means you can’t use it for transfers and etc for a minute though.

I admit when I fully understood what plague signet was, well, supposed to do, it looked a little overpowered truth be told. Disregarding that it’s bugged, if it worked the way it says, it seems like it’d be extremely potent. Think about it: A bunch of conditions are spread thin over your team. A bleed on someone, confuse on another, maybe poison here and there. Signet sucks all of it to you, concentrating it. You put this concentrated mix onto an enemy, then you epidemic it, copying the concentrated debuffs to a lot of people.

You basically take all the conditions and deliver them back, far worse than when they were on your own team.

This whole time, you’re protecting your team from ALL conditions.

All of that, on one ability. It seems quite strong. Amazing support. The kind of support Necro needs right now.

This should be fixed as soon as possible.

Is it really a bug though? The description of the skill itself reads that it transfers conditions from allies onto you — doesn’t have anything about removing the skill. Maybe it isn’t a support skill, but rather you use the poor situation your group is in to build conditions to send back — and then you epidemic.

Doesnt even say how many conditions are removed/stacks/etc

But if they did make it so it removes I wouldn’t complain

Per definition a transfer is removing an element from one set and placing it into another set. If they intended to copy the conditions, they should write “copy” and not “transfer”.

I agree. There are other examples in the game (even on the necro class itself) that says"transfer" and those ability take it from one place and put it somewhere else completely.

Like Deathly Swarm for instance. It says “Transfer up to three conditions from yourself to an enemy”. These actually remove the condition from you and place it on the enemy instead.

So if, per Deathly Swarm, “transfer” means to remove it from one place and put it somewhere else, then Plague Signet (which also says “transfer”) should do the same thing: Remove conditions from your allies and put them on yourself.

I felt the same way. When I read what this signet does I started planning a whole build around it to protect my team from conditions and ruin the opposing teams day. When I learned about the bug I was crushed.
I hope they fix it soon because I would love to use it in combination with epidemic!

Well SW is not… horrible. x_x

I have it as utility 90% of the time in WvW because it’s the only mobility skill we get. (Staff/ScepterDagger), and the swiftness lasts a long time =D

But on topic… I hope the whole “transfer” wording is not just a tooltip miscommunication, because a cleanser/debuffer play style is why I choose the necro in the first place :<

Off topic again…. I wish they’d buff Well of Power so it heals a lil bit per pulse >_< Well of Corruption dmgs per pulse, I dont see why they can’t make the two skills mirror each other more.

It is a powerful ability if you look at it as a single spell (ignoring the fact that its still bugged), but in combination of the whole necro kit, its just above normal, just as warriors heal signet that gives the dolyak rune effect. Necros already have pretty nice and stronger skills in terms of one part of the effect of the plague signet, making it a save a utility slot skill for a bit weaker (but still pretty strong) effect than what you could have gotten if you used 2 skills.

It’s very buggy still or doesn’t take all conditions… Been to many dungeons where I don’t get my teams conditions.

Big one is vulnerability from arah. I notice a heck a lot of time I don’t get it from them. Not sure though if it’s bug or supposed to be like that.

Also, it doesn’t make the party immune to conditions eve if it DID in fact work; it pulses once per second, and each pulse removes one condition from each ally and applies it to you.

That’s a pretty massive amount of removal, regardless if it’s all of them at once or not.

I’m actually glad it’s not all at once, because odds are I would die frequently before being able to transfer them :P

no you would die if tranfer all condition from allies to you becase you just simple need to use the plague signet that is a break stun (mean is always available when is not in CD) and when you active plague you loose the ability to receive any condition from allies so no one would die from it, but that will be very OP.

plague signet just need to work like is now but not with the buggy thing that dont remove the condition from ally but copy them instead, wich mean a skill that could be great to support team dont do nothing since you dont remove any conditions with plague, but this is just one of many bugs necro have.

for now is a good ofensive and defensive (is a BS and transfer all conditions on you instantly) but not awesome because miss the most important part…give support to your team

possante.8310 – Think of the kit the necro has, then about the kits of other professions, even if it would be op, there are skills other professions have that can be called op as well, but shouldnt be nerfed because they fit in the class and actually balance it.
Thus never call a skill op unless it can kill a enemy by just 1 button press (hell even pistolwhip, the most bull**** why can you stun for a total of 1.4 seconds for doing nothing but pressing it twice while also doing massive damage, fits the kit the profession has).

Normally I don’t use the signet, but it’s a part of my underwater skill set, and my warrior friend was adamant that it did indeed transfer his conditions to me; he said he watched them disappear from him before the timer ran out. Maybe it just works underwater, though.

Ah,
Kaikas and Narmix, was trying to play devils advocate a bit bc if plague signet worked properly we’d be OP! (hah)

Your statements make sense (esp w the deadly swarm example) so hope ANet does fix it…sounded too good to be true to actually be helpful to allies!
