I have a crazy theory about why DS is so borked at the moment. It might be a bug.

Do you think it’s possible that we’re always considered to be under 20% health when in DS?
I ask because all of our x% or less traits, armour and abilities proc when we’re hit in DS. I also ask because it feels like thieves hit me for considerably more when in DS than when out of it.
I don’t have the time to test this today – can anyone else spare a few minutes to test this with a thief/someone with a steady weapon and a health based damage trait?

No you’re considerered by the game to be at the percent of health which you are at with life force.
That is 50% life force means you’re treated as having 50% health.

How do you increase toughness in DS? Its often called the “second lifebar” but its bar drops about 4 times faster than my actual healthbar

I could be mistaken, Levian, but I think you take the same amount of damage, but you also take an additional 4%/sec as well, due to the nature of death shroud.

One thing that might work is somehow keeping your life force 20% or below and tapping F1 twice to enter and exit death shroud procing any effects that trigger.
However i think that might be more a design flaw.
