Ok so i’m almost lvl80 i want to finish 100% map completion and full exotic then go in WvW for pvp. Right now my build focus on staff and well burst, it’s awesome in pve and can kill pretty when i have like 10 mobs in one place.

Now, how is a power necro in WvW, would axe be better for burst? my build will focus on wells and every post here i keep seeing is that their useless. So should i run a condition build? my thief is full condition and can reach 1400 condition and stack 25 bleed in seconds, can a necro do that? i don’t mind if they don’t stack 25 bleed but is their damage higher? what is the common condition build for a necro and what do you think would an ideal burst damage build be? i’m asking because i don’t want to waste my time gearing for the wrong build.

Staff and Wells power build is absolutely viable for PvP.

Necro condition damage won’t ramp up as quickly as some classes, but we have the ability to do it at great range, with more AoE, and IMHO most importantly easily stack additional debilitating conditions (most notably poison and chill).

I’m using my necro all time in wvw. Greater marks rocks for attacking buildings. You can easely do some nasty condition damage on them. Then I cast Epidemic, and poof see them running It doesn’t always kill them but hey they are occupied and that means we can freely take the gate 1 vs 1 I must still practise but i’m getting better at escaping warrior/thiefs burst now. And having 1200 range really is nice. You need it. Otherwise a zerg can overrun and cul you. Spamming conditions at max range + spread them is such a nice way to break a zerg up. And while those people run away my people advance and soon we get upper hand. Not saying that’s all because of me, but it definitely helps. 5+ stacks of 1000+ condition damage bleeds stacks on people makes them panic. And panic is a good way to kill people.

Legendary weapons can be hidden now!
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

Minions aren’t perfect, but people tend to ignore them in WvW. Until they die.

It works in WvW necros are actually solid in WvW because you can always have 100% lifeforce.

Wells are great in WvW because of all the melee people running around.

No a necro can not stack bleeds like a thief.

I wish I had been FRAPSing yesterday when a small group of us pushed a zerg into a tower and held them there for about an hour and a half yesterday. It got to the point that they started targeting me and my other necro friend. More often than not we came out on top. A couple of skilled Well/Mark necromancers can easily turn a losing fight into a victory, especially when they communicate and work as a team.

The truth is, people expect certain builds when they see certain classes. More often than not they’ve prepared for those builds, the cookie cutter power necro is one of those right now. If you show up with something completely different and are good at it, you’ll turn their world upside down.
