I miss Corpse utilitilization
Necro should raise the dead. Pet AI is really making minion use, at all, cumbersome. Being able to raise corpses as active skills would be way preferable and more fun for sure. At least Necro wouldn’t just be a fancy warlock that way.
I miss having a army of undead, being able to use just 1 type of minion and to keep spamming that one type because it fit what was needed for the fight was great.
Now the real issue (besides the ai) is the cast and recast times, we cannot keep the minions being spawned back to back like we used to. In the first one, minions died from a sneeze which was acceptable, they didnt hit hard but we could keep the numbers up so it worked well, not to mention multiple of the same type up which in some cases all ranged did wonders or just little bombers of death. We need to able to spam minions because right now they are not balanced with the cast times with what they are and with how little damage they normally do with so little up time.
Flesh worm though is one of the best minions with its damage, range, and its secondary skill. The flesh golem is the second best with its great melee damage, health regan, and knockdown when it works right. The other minions are just not that good. Shadow fiend with its long cast time of its secondary skill actually being killed before it goes off. Same with our other ranged minion, the cast time for its secondary effects are just to long. Having more then one little reanimator up would make that little guy good once they fix the ai, it should still be a choice to having him though. The long cast time and recast for them, combined with the secondary cast times on the skills they have not to mention how long it takes to get them back up is a huge issue. We need to be able to spam these guys back into combat much quicker, and if possible more of them then just 1 at a time would do complete wonders for the minion master build.

@gamefreak, yeah, rather than having cd after minion death, it would be much better to have cd from last cast. Bone minions aren’t that bad as well, they would be even greater addition with ability to summon second pack after first two blew up
Using bodies as a recource made some skills far too situational for them to be useful. I’m glad Anet decided to move away from that.

Yet a MASSIVE % of our life force gains come from things dying. =/
Oh believe me I don’t want the corpse’s used for minion summoning. Necro’s would stand no chance against the other professions if that was needed! But traversing corpse’s would still be much welcome.
Also… any idea why or how this makes sense? Elementalist (or Mesmer?) upon Downed state can get out of harms way even while downed, yet a Necro, master of the undead, can’t do squat… not to mention F1 still leaves them just as vulnerable rather than harder to hit. Heh.
I know we’re supposed to play nice but I see too many stupid.
Minion AI makes using Minions with the current system, THE MOST SITUATIONAL MECHANIC IN THE GAME.
Arguing that using corpses would be too situational is like floating in the middle of the Pacific and having an argument over MAKING THE OCEAN TOO WET IF YOU PEE. Holy potato loving tardstorm.
Necro is for summoning the dead. Not the dirt. You epic wastes of consciousness. Go play a thief or a ele and stop trying to drop deuce on everything it means to be a NECRO.

Well well well, someone’s mad.
You could try to add something to the conversation instead of mindlessly insulting people.

Meh he’s welcome to his opinion but not going to justify it with a reply. Obviously somebody has their mind one-sided.
But anyhow, seeing how Necro’s are not that tough. Their down-state is pretty abysmal (by this I mean they are masters of the dead, why must they suffer? lol) Okay maybe not so much but seriously it seems like, even with the trait on, their downed state is the less ‘impacting’ then any others. Fear is the best here, but you won’t be able to res yourself with a horde around you and only sending one off fleeing. You need to kill someone first and that isn’t at all as powerful as any of the other professions. Or am I wrong?
To counter-weight this properly, it would be nice if fear was removed from the downed state to something that allowed the Necro’s to fade into the mist’s like F1 does, and be invisible for a short time to get away from the enemies.

This is a reply, making my post now fully justified, by your own brand of white knight trolling. Bravo. Bravo.
Also you are wrong. 50% to damage in downed state is extremely powerful damage + tug-o-war downed HP, without considering fear.
And both of you fail at humor, coming and going. Just sayin.

I COMPLETELY agree! That made the Necromancer profession as far as I’m concerned. What is it now?
In fact, there’s a song about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47Eo8U6I7Lk
It was fun having 30 little critters running around behind you back in the Prophesies days, but doing nothing apart from healing them got kinda boring. I did used to love Putrid Exploding my way to victory in altar-type maps in Tombs though, before its recharge was increased! That was fun! And I miss long-lasting Wells – I would happily go back to needing a corpse to exploit to cast a Well if their duration were to go back up to what it used to be. Trouble is fights are smaller and things don’t die as often in GW2, not sure it would work.
