If it had to be nerfed for sPvp, ok maybe I do not do it but from what I understand that is why. For WvW and otherstuff, I want the old one back. Sick of seeing Stability and a bijillions boons thrown everywhere. Guardian= AOE Stability! Corrupt Boon= one yes ONE count laugh target… Yes I can epidemic but that doesn’t remove everyone elses boons.

Dude, I agree. Honestly if the skill were the least bit realiable I would be perfectly fine with the nerf. But Anet hates everything but condi spam no skill necro so I guess we are all screwed.

I used to feel this way until I realized that the guardian has to use two skills to cover the stability. Is it really fair to have that countered by one skill from a necro?

If the Guardian had one shout that gave him 5+ boons and stability in one skill, I would agree, but as it stands right now, CB is more of a risk vs reward on if you should strip boons to deal some damage and apply pressure, or strip down to stability and/or wait before the CB for when the stab is exposed.

The real culprit here is massive AOE boons in large groups and how you counter that (WvW). That scenario really has no counter, as evidenced by the hammer train phenom there.

This nerf to Corrupt Boon brought more stability into play in sPvP and made full runes of lyssa a very strong choice for many builds.
I am personally quite OK with the 5 boon limit of the skill, but I’m unhappy that stability is one of the last to get removed in a huge stack of boons.

If I’m to give necromancers more torment in place of their bleeds, I would give it to other skills.
Corrosive Poison Cloud is my prime suggestion for Torment.

I agree stability should be ripped in the first 5 boons removed if it was cast after the original other boons were cast. A cast-order-priority system is needed.

With staff also now only being 3 condi off you, none off allies… we really are losing our ‘condi/boon manipulation’ role. Leaving us with… Stacks more condi than can be cleansed role.

The best part of this is I still drop mark 4 on people who are in trouble to remove condi pressure, even though it doesn’t do anything, out of habit.

It really is a trash skill now compared to its cooldown. Best case scenario is a big nuke in a zerker build for me now.

To be honest, corrupt boon needed a nerf. A full condition-flip, that was essentially unavoidable by skill (aka only avoidable by pure luck) was pretty crazy. Disregarding the problems with the skill itself that need to be fixed (bad priority system, LoS issues that plague it), 5 boons flipped is, I think, a reasonable amount.

It just needs, as others have said, a reworking of the crappy priority.

Should be the same with well of corruption.

Cast-order priority would be bad. People would learn the pattern and stack boons to make sure the good ones are the last to be stripped.

Imo the order should be random – which makes it fair for everyone.

When I get that feeling I want… spectral healing.

Tbh I’m not bothered by the removal priority at all.

Moving stability into the top 5 would negate the purpose of why CB was nerfed in the first place.

And let’s be honest, the classes who can get more than 5 boons (without Lyssa) are the easiest opponents for necros anyway.

Imo the order should be random – which makes it fair for everyone.

I’d rather be able to target specific boons than leave the outcome of a fight to RNG.

I like the nerf, including the unfavorable priority system. Having to think about the corruption cap adds an interesting layer of play to Corrupt Boon. It also helps differentiate good from bad players.

I love using it on lyssa warriors, only to find out after stripping the boons non of the conditions stick. :S

So i type gg, and i will return doing pve events for spikes and blues!
