IS MM worth trying for dungeons?
I have been messing around with it and it seems like its almost there but not quite, on the last boss of a quick cof p1 the golem was dead when he had around 30% hp left
I usually run condi, though i do switch to MM if im doing single target or dying, MM is just not as engaging.
If you use 50% more life on minions, transfusion & staff to heal your minions, they are ‘viable’ in any dungeon without ‘avoid this or get 1 shot’ mechanics.
Better/worthwhile vs other builds. Not really.
Tho there could be a slight DPS increase on single target fights if using minion Siphon & Improv Siphon with power gear from Blood Magic. (Minions siphon now scales damage with power, getting you nearly +100 dam per hit, that can’t be avoided by armor etc) (Still rare situational, lots more ‘oh my minions died 1shot’ than ‘yay they awesome’ fights.)
If you take blood fiend, shadow fiend, WoS, Signet of spite and flesh golem. Then yes they are fine.
No.
The buff to health just lets the minions keep pace with ascended weapons.
Hell yes it is fun.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
Flesh Golem/Blood Fiend: 33,000 HP traited
Bone Minions: 13,000 HP traited
Rest: 28,000 HP traited.
Even the most pathetic of our minions have comparable HP to players.

Careful saying that though, people might draw an improper conclusion. They also can’t dodge (and don’t dodge with the master), tend to have lower toughness, and don’t worry about positioning/being in aoes so, there’s quite a huge difference when it comes to EFFECTIVE hp :P

The exception, of course is using the minions for the underwater fights in Honor of the Waves.
Minions rock underwater.
DONT buff your Minions Health. Buff your ability to cast them faster and make sure you have death nova. Death Nova can be blasted as a poison field. Plus, Putrid Explosion and Necrotic Traversal are blast finishers (so that is 3 blast finishers dropping 3 death novas when they kill the minions).
Thus, Get bone minions, flesh wurm and corrosive poison cloud (well of suffering or corruption is good too, but it is just blindness they blast) as your utilities (Blood fiend and golem for your other skills). Run to a group of mobs in a dungeon, don’t range. Have your staff up with #4 ready to go. Drop the Wurm first, then Corrosive poison cloud, Necrotic Traversal to blast the cloud, staff 4 to blast it again, and by that time your bone minions should have caught up to you so blast them once and then twice. It does damage for the four blasts plus stacks the poison duration on the mobs. Have your flesh golem knock the mobs down and then back off and range finish them.
Alternatively you can take well of blood for your healy skill and that blast finishes for retaliation. So let them hit you and kill themselves as you blast 4 times to stack your retaliation and also drop death novas as well. The only problem with that is a death nova might supercede the well of blood blast when you drop it the first time, so might not work out like you might hope. I need to test that on my MM.

You also can’t resummon a player after he stupidly walks into an insta-kill AoE, whereas my minions are back in 30ish seconds.

True. I have a pretty PvP-oriented state of mind (I know that’s not what this thread is about) so my opinions are a bit biased to incorporating pvp outcomes too. XD (30 seconds of no pets in pvp is a dead mm for sure)
