Idea for Gathering Plague
Hey CMstorm I’ve noticed you’ve been suggesting a lot of changes to the way skills work.
If you are keen on suggesting changes to be implemented, you would be 100000 times better off suggesting subtle changes to talents as Arenanet have said they want to shape the class through talent updates.
It should also be noted that from a development perspective, it’s a million times easier to tweak numbers on existing skills/talents than to design, develop and test entirely new skills with new animations etc.
Yes, I am talking about the underwater death shroud skill, Gathering Plague and it is somewhat underwhelming and I don’t really understand the point of it, because currently it’s just like plague signet minus the stun break and weakness to yourself.
Here’s what I had in mind:Gathering Plague 30 second CD
You begin channelling, drawing in conditions from allies to yourself and the conditions linger around you for a time, inflicting yourself with weakness.
Channel range:1200
Radius: 240(Then it would change into Plague Sending)
Plague Sending You unleash a spectral minion toward your foe and it transfers all the conditions you channelled, on your foe
this is just something that i thought of that might make uw death shroud a little more supportive and condition-y…
Isn’t this Plague Signet minus the drawbacks and with half the CD?
kind of, but you’re just left sitting there with weakness and all these conditions and nothing to do with them. You could use plague signet, but i thot it might be decent to have a 2nd-like plague signet/plague form

You do realize that Life Blast underwater transfers conditions and fires rapidly, right?

This. Gathering Plague right as you get into DS actually turns your 1 skill into a potential deathball of death.
yeah, but Life blast just sends them one by one and if the conditions have shorter durations, u might not be able to get them all off… eh idk, maybe Bhawb is right

True, but none of the conditions really… matter. Any damage they do to you is negated by you being Shrouded, any mobility loss usually isn’t a huge deal (you can create plenty of distance with the ridiculous underwater 2 skill). You take the stuff off your team, and even if you don’t get the insane 25 bleed transfer, it still takes all the effects from everyone else, concentrates them on you, and you are far more capable of dealing with them as a Necro (Gathering Plague → consume conditions).
One by one, but every half second. I think Unyielding Blast can let you transfer more off at once too.
