It could be a new skill (!) or part of a spectral trait line. (eh)

It is not as strong as a mesmer’s portal, it merely brings a single ally along with you. Upon an ally using it, the portal will be set to dissipate 2-3 seconds later, inactive for allies during that time (excluding yourself) and gone when the time is up. You can use it freely. Imagine it’s like Spectral Walk, but instead of simply returning, you create a portal as long as you’re planted on the ground. Alternatively, it is Spectral Walk.

“But why? We have Walk and our Flesh Wurm if we want to zoop back. So it’s just for carrying an ally?”

Yes. The poor man’s portal. So perhaps it could be more:

  • An elite that pulls all enemies in a 600-900 radius upon portal exit. Drop your wells and eat the enemy. Good for pvp point defense.
  • Ally (not you) could get some buffs upon using the portal, making it more of a combat-portal.

Adjust cast time, cooldown, debuff the user. Whatever to balance.

Necros are by far the best profession for climbing and jumping.

I’m sure an abuse can come from that.

Spectral Walk can get you up to places you’d normally not reach…

When LA moved to the Vigil Keep, I broke out multiple times of the map with my Necromancer, only because it could do stuff no other classes could…

On topic, i like the idea of a portal that pulls people inside. It helps keep the enemyclose and can be combined with wells…too bad we already have spectral grasp for that

Idk if they ever do add new skills I can see some type of spectral ability being added that pulls all nearby enemies onto it & applies a condition.

or heck it could even be a well ability.

Imagine

“Gravity Well” Pull all enemies within X distance of a given spot to the center of said spot, then apply weakness (Y seconds) & immobilize (Z seconds) once they get there.

Seeing as how the necro has little in the way of leaps, teleports & gap closers it makes sense they would be good at pulling enemies to them or a chosen spot.
Besides imagine the fun that could be had in WvW with cliffs

Reminds me of guard hammer #5. Would be fun to drop in middle of enemy zerg, or like you said on cliffs and fear
