Q:
Simple question really. How would someone know if its healing them or their enemy? How would someone know if the well is blinding them or poisoning them or not? Or is the piddly group healing ticks that a well offers not worth the effort to stay in the well, so no one cares?

Every ground aoe casted by an enemy, like wells or marks for example, have a red circle around them. Its kinda hard to distinguish different wells or marks but if they are not red its probably a good idea to stand in them.

Enemy wells have red rings i think, while friendly wells appear as you see when you cast them. In general, i only run from ground circles outlined in red, because i assume any regular looking ones are either hurting enemies or helping allies.

Thanks. So throwing a well of blood out in a pack of people defending, is mostly pointless? If so, what purpose does it serve?

Its not pointless, if you have some heal it ticks for over 400. It also adds up with regeneration and other hots. If you or others stand in it the entire time it adds up for around 4k heal. Not all that much but maybe just enough to turn around that teamfight in your favor

Sorry, Please disregard what i just said. I read Mark, not well.
If you max out healing, you can get it up to 707 per tick over 10 sec. so 7K if you can stay in it.
With out any healing stats its 152 per tick for 10 sec. So 1.52k health. So not much.
