I think that they should fix the minion AI first, THEN see if they need other tweaks.
If Blood Fiend didn’t insist on facetanking mobs it might actually be decent.

Good idea, I don’t think it’ll be overpowered if they decrease the healing amount.

For me blood fiend is the best healing I have used so far because it heals when it hits a mob (passive healing) and you can activate the skill and get a good amount of healing too. Plus it has a low cool down.

As long as you can gain agro on the mobs you will end up with a lot of healing.

Right. It’s ok in PvE, because it can serve as a tank and a heal. My experiences with it was that you almost never get both benefits though: Either the mobs focus you and you need the heal, or they focus the mob and you don’t need the heal until after it’s dead.

Not a complaint, just warning newbies that they might wanna upgrade to consume conditions when they can.

But how can you reliable use Consume Conditions so that you are getting the most benefit from it? In other words, what are the tricks to guarantee that you have a few conditions before using CC?

I’m thinking mostly in terms of solo PvE, so something like Plague Signet probably won’t be that helpful. Are there other ways?

It’s a great heal even when not consuming conditions. If you really must condition yourself, use a corruption like Blood Is Power.

What if minion summons got cast off life force and you can have multiple of them… I think that could allow minions to be more useful as they currently are, given that they attack things, then you wouldn’t have to sacrifice EVERY utility slot in order to get a measly 4 minions up that die in 1-2 hits, and the people who hate DS have another use for the class mechanic. This would also make MM builds a lot more like they were in GW1 where minion deaths fueled your energy that you could then use for minion summons, may not even need a cooldown between summons given how slowly necro’s can build life force…
