I think this would be a good idea, it’s already a weak trait(even for 5 points) and this would add a little more viability(you wouldn’t have to put 30 points in Death Magic to get Death Nova). This would make it a little more useful to necros who put points in Death Magic but don’t use minions. I also don’t see this causing any balance issues.
(A little more health or less degen would also be nice. )

This is kind of the core problem with Reanimator. The extra minion becomes stronger and stronger the more trait investment you have in minions, but without those, it kind of falls flat.
Balance-wise you can’t ignore the potential that an extra minion gives to a minion-master, even though the jagged horror is so close to useless for other build types.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
I would absolutely love to see jagged horrors and bone minions be combined into the same minion as both right now feel pretty lacking unless you trait death nova. The damage values would naturally have to be tweaked but it’s still something I’d love to see.
Make it happen, ArenaNet? As somebody who has played minion master from day one you’d have my eternal love and gratitude if you did this and gave the flesh golem some swimming flippers while at it.
I recall a friend of mine who doesn’t know too much about Necros asking me if my Jagged Horrors were giving their health to me and if that was why they kept dying about a week ago.
Thought I’d throw that in here, I laughed at the time but now that I think about it having a portion of it’s health transfered to you every time it bleeds could be neat.

If you aren’t MM they are worthless… if they did bleeds on hit… They would get a bit more respect but not until bleed cap is gone, dots are affected by haste and can crit like all other sources of damage. But that will never happen… even bleed cap getting removed. They will never get bleed long enough to matter anyway. Same goes for bone minions unless you use their active they are worthless even if your full MM. Still don’t understand why all minions don’t have some sort of on hit effect. I’m still not sure if cripple is all that great on elite. It works for condition spec but for everyone else that cripple is a sad joke… w/o duration it might as well not be there anyway. Anyway none of it will change since its anet. So wishful thinking.

Funnily enough I talked about this on the bus today with my brother o.O
I said how cool it would be if the trait that makes your minions explode was like your “explode command” on bone minions or w/e. So each minion actually explodes, doing dmg on impact, poisoning and even blinding… now THAT would be good.
And yeah, jagged horrors aren’t so good, but when you have something like Superior rune of the Lich and you are traited into being a Minion Master, you will have at least 2 little guys running around at a time in combat (sometimes more than 2). The little guys will steal health for you, will take a condition from you every 10 secs, and whatever else you put…. so… not too bad (especially if they have +50% more health, then they stay alive for a little longer, combine that with staff skill #2 and healing Life Transfer… anyway xP)

They do bleed on hit, I’m confused by your statement.

To my knowledge, the only minion that gives LF is Flesh Golem, and then Flesh Wurm if you blow him up.
I’d like the Jagged Horror to blow up once, then never spawn again. Yes, I’d rather have nothing for my 5 points than the poster child for the Why There Should Be Choices for 5 Point Traits Foundation.
