Just to be certain, and since I can’t get into the game atm, is spiteful talisman working correctly now? With both focus #4 and #5? And with recharge and with range?
Reapers touch now has a “Fling” Animation instead of the “Flick”, guessing this is unintentional.
On the upside, Focus skill cast times are reduced?

I found it interesting that this patch had more bug fixes than the “big bug fix patch” that happened two weeks ago.
Downed HP still not fixed though. Sigh. At least they got Reaper’s Touch fixed though. Thats a plus.

If you go through the patch history, most of the balance fixes short of hotfixes are done between the 24th and 28th of each month. So two more weeks.
It’s going to be a long month.

Jon could you say anything about the spiteful talisman bug? It’s been in the game since before release, and reported as such.

My money is on the 25th. The 2nd would be two days before the 4th of July; a major holiday in the USA. I doubt they’d bring out a major patch two days before a holiday when there’s the risk that something may break due to the patch. They would need time to track down and fix any new bugs introduced with the update; only one day (July 3rd) wouldn’t be enough time.
Also, July would be a whole new month, and to my knowledge they always keep their monthly patches within the month.
what about the fear upon downed trait? or how focus4(with increased range) still acts as if it’s range is only 900?

Given their close association with dead things, I’d be wary of licking a Necro, too.

The patch notes stated this was fixed. I haven’t been able to log into the game so haven’t tested, are you saying you tested it and it still isn’t resolved?
Just tested it in HotM, and Focus 4 was working at just short of 1200 range (went to 1200 range then took one step forward).
Drastically more than I expected. Also, regarding Spectral Grasp:
Go test them before getting too excited.

They didn’t, since I think that’s a larger issue than just that one skill. (Just tried it on a moderate uphill slope and it stopped pretty early, which has been typical of pull skills forever, to my knowledge)
But still, having the pull go its full 1200 range is nice.
Edit: Just used Focus 4 at 1200 with the trait. It hit. The secondary bounces are much shorter (600ish range?) but have always been like that to my knowledge.
Edit2: Anyone understand the note about Parasitic Bond? It’s the ‘heal when something dies’ minor, I didn’t think healing ever showed up in the combat log…?

Yeah I am curious as well… I can’t think of any healing skill that shows up in the combat log, including you know… your heal…. not sure why this would show up… No point in spite and I forgot to check.

Should be pretty easy to test that (in the mists). Sadly, im not on my real PC so i cant do it.

I just tested it; regen, healing by siphoning, healing with dagger 2, and Well of Blood all did not show up in combat log.
For the record, I didn’t notice anything about Parasitic Bond in my combat log when I was out killing stuff for Spiteful Talisman. I was getting the healing though, so it works. (As it always has?) I’m just not sure what they fixed there, if anything.

It feels like that SNL skit Lowered Expectations in the necro forums when there is a patch day.
No one even believes the stuff in the notes has been fixed until it’s thoroughly tested, and with good reason obviously…..

@Dredlord: of course not. The documentation of what things actually do in this game is a bloody mess and pretty much non-existant. And Anets Patchnotes are as complete and correct as their tooltips.

It’d be a weird place to do it though: the necro section is already pretty big relative to the other professions, and the spiteful talisman alone was enough. (Again, I didn’t expect any bug fixes in this patch)

This is really nice actually. I switched from Spiteful Spirit to Talisman and it really makes the Axe/Focus combo much better. Overall, Its a buff to me even if it looks very small.

I agree its irritating, and its the main reason I don’t take focus, because just the one hit from it without the bounce is no good. If it did rebound 1200 yards it would have to go very fast, much faster than the projectile moves right now.

It’s not really a bug/problem if that’s the way it’s supposed to work. Mesmer’s staff 1, pistol 5, greatsword 2, and Disenchanter, all bounce to nearby targets. If the bounce was 1200, and at 5 bounces, it would theoretically reach 6000 range if the enemies were spaced apart. Now imagine if a Mesmer along with 3 clones casting staff 1 Winds of Chaos all having 1200 bounce and traited with an additional bounce. It would be utter devastation.
The aggravating thing, for me, is that the “bounce” abilities are never consistent…even with LoS being perfectly flat and your facing the target dead on…

Never said that it would be “next patch”, rather that they were working on a fix and it would be uploaded (probably as a hotfix) when ready.
