Why is the “rabid” (“rabid” denotes gear that has condition damage as a primary stat, and toughness/precision as secondary stats) prefix only available for pvp gear? I find it incredibly frustrating that gear with this stat combination is a complete and total pain to get at level 80. It’s by far the best combination of stats for condition necromancers (unless you’re going glass cannon) and the only ways to get it are:

1. If you were lucky enough to have picked Order of Whispers as your order and can just fork out the 12k or so to buy the Order of Whispers gear.

2. If you feel like wasting your hard-earned dungeon tokens on the rare dungeon gear.

3. If you’re lucky enough to get pieces of the Khilbron set through drops, or rich enough to buy them on the TP.

4. If you spend 45k karma or tons of dungeon tokens on the exotic sets with this stat combination.

Note that there is no way to get this stat combination (even on a RARE set) without hours upon hours of work or a lot of luck. It’s a simple oversight on Anet’s part, and I feel like it would be easy to fix by just making “Rabid” gear drop from enemies, or make a set with that stat combination that can be crafted.

Well the problem with jewelry is that you do not want to give for ex POWER/CRIT/TOUGHNESS in one jewel because people would just stack toughness after that. No more glass cannons.

You can’t get precision to reliably crit then, making crit dmg useless.

This is a problem. Lets ask ANET to fix it

If it’s not that hard to get, please tell me where to get it. I’m talking about lvl 80 rares – reasonably priced items that have near-max stats.

Isn’t the gear the reason for doing the dungeons? What are you supposed to spend your tokens on if not the gear?

Why do you want Rabid gear anyway?

Full condition builds just have too many counters for the speed at which we can (by ourselves) stack condition/bleeds. The only saving grace is Epidemic spreads ALL conditions. Not to mention stacking HIGH condition to like 1600 makes you a one trick wonder. Any good player will wreck you in this setup WvW or tPvP.

I even started doing this once I hit 80 only to realize HOW FAIL it was.

Deathshroud becomes “second HP” bar which is just WRONG and your basic attacks tickle.

But its your game, just wanted to post what I’ve seen through a lot of WvW. I could be wrong when it comes to tPvP.

If you relegate Death Shroud to a “second HP bar” then you don’t belong using this class.

I play three classes, engi, mesmer and necro every one of them needs prec/condi/thoughness gear for its condition spec.

I dont care if it affects death shroud at all, its not my fault that anet makes a class mechanic that only works with power builds.

There are several dungeons with those gear options. He said RABID which calculates Condition damage as the highest stack on the piece.

I said that was silly because +Condition damage sucks for Necros stacked to max because of how slow we can STACK conditions and our lack of condition use in DS.

There are none for trinkets I meant armor.

There is a post for lack of jewelery recipes though. ANet has to know about it.
