What I’d like to know is, if they have this bug fixed in a build, why don’t they just hotfix it? Bugs with profession mechanics (especially major ones like this) really should just be hotfixed in.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled it’s finally getting fixed, I’m genuinely curious as to why it has to wait, though.

I’ve had this happen a few times recently. Not pleasant. Activate DS and continue to damage to both LF and Health at the same time.
I guess that they messed something seriously up and that the changes they have to make to fix it are to much for a hotfix. At least we should be thankful that they considered it a bug and not a feature (like many other things in the past) and that they are actually fixing it. The biggest miracle is that the bug got to their attention at all since threads about it where silently deleted for whatever reason.
Do we need to post on reddit everytime to get Anet’s attention?

Wow! Thrilled that they will be finally fixing this. Mind, I have become so used to it that I hardly noticed it anymore. There is actually a work-around to this issue – simply never let your Life Force drain out to 0. Whenever I exit Deathshroud before it drains out, I have immediate access to my heal and other skills.
Or have I just been lucky?

I might actually start believing a bit now..
and cried a little after promising myself to play a different game if the next patch doesn’t fix this.. (they almost got rid of me ^^)
But as you know people are never satisfied, so we shall start complaining about the next bug untill it is fixed.

I don’t think ANet really minds about us complaining about bugs. Sure, we might get a little nasty, but they want a properly functioning game as much as we do.

Interesting…. but I bet the fix will involve DS going on a full 10 second cooldown when manually ended or naturally decaying out. Will have to wait and see if they give the drop out of DS traits a go for working on being forced out (like Deathly invig).

It’s sad that it’s gotten to the point that we no longer expect true fixes, but rather which iteration of lingering bugs are we willing to live with.
It is sad man but with the necro… Just be glad we got fix man. I can’t wait to play my ds spectral necro without being locked out and I can play my old shroud dance build again.

Next patch all our healing skills get an extra second casting time to compensate, calling it now.

I will be glad…when we actually get fixed rather than just bandaged.
It will be a welcome improvement IF they actually fix it without introducing a new bug or “feature”. So we’ll be able to scratch that one off the list. Then just only three dozen more or so to go before we can finally proclaim necromancers to be a working profession.
And before anyone counters with how strong necros are, etc., etc., realize that I’m happy for you that your condi build, or minion master build, or whatever is finally working for you. That doesn’t mean there aren’t still gaping holes, broken builds, and near-worthless traitlines elsewhere within the class that still require a lot of work.
Thank god for that… lets just wait and see the rest of the incoming nerfs though…

When they say “feature build,” they mean the one that’s 3-4 months away (the one after the LS ends and they take an update break), right?
Pretty sure the balance patch is right after the last LS patch. The break they’re taking is a content break, not update break.
