Guild Wars 2

Currently I have two necromancers, an Asuran female (who has three sets) and a Sylvari male (who has two). The Asuran is my main.
In order: A mix of Pact and Asuran cultural. A necromantic take on Black Mage. And the obligatory “necro using an Arah mix”. Then I play with winged and feathered while trying to bring out the colors of Demon Masque, and finally a mix of various Sylvari cultural and Twilight Arbor that hasn’t been properly dyed yet.

I wanted my necro to look heroic, golden and flashy since so many people make their necros look dark and scary.

Felt like changing things up went for a more straight up spell caster look rather than necromantic , happy with how it turned out

I changed mine again, im going for a fallen angel look. The dark got depressing so I figured the lighter shades would still give nice contrast but look more like I was an angel that went sour. lol

Quick Question. Why do most Necros go for Green color themes…. Or Mesmers with their Purple/pink themes, or Guardians with Blue/White, Thieves with Black/Gray…

It’s just the general colors associated with the professions. Like you can see it on the skills, and the pvp pie circle, on the professions back ground on this website, etc. Thieves are kind of an outlier but almost every thief is black because of the stereotype of it being dark and in that shows and hard to see and blah blah.

I get pretty annoyed when my character doesn’t use the color scheme that fits the profession, so I guess there are a lot of people like me.

They’re colors that are thematic to the class. Going by the color palettes of a class’s skills alone, it’s easy to see why. (Rangers, of course, would be pretty colorful while Thieves are rather drab.)

That said, here’s my necro again. Here’s his “Reaper of Grenth” outfit, matching the hard-to-find colors of Shadow of Grenth. I double challenged myself by completely mix-matching. But then, I cheated by using the Dry Bones headdress. :9

I’ve just started playing GW2 again, so I don’t have any of the super-fancy costume pieces that some of you might have access to. I’m working mainly with whatever normal light armor pieces are available, with a few unlocked pieces. I think it turned out pretty kitten well, all things considered.
