Life Siphon is a good heal with good damage, but I rarely if ever finish the full cast as I use it while closing in on an enemy and then switch to autoattacking, or if my other weapon set AND Death Shroud is on cooldown.

I’d like to see it updated a bit to fit Dagger’s toe-to-toe playstyle or just have it condensed it a little with a shorter cast time, and more burst with longer cooldown.

An example:
Turn it into a Greatsword3-esque skill with a load of fast attacks that proc multiple lifesteals, with a longer windup but short range. At the moment it feels like the old version of Ranger Longbow 2 Rapid Fire – basically not very rapid. The idea to keep its sustain should be prevalent.

An alternative is to incorporate something extra for finishing the full cast, like a timed charge or a fear so you can combine it with Dagger 3 for a sitting duck combo.

Any thoughts from other necromancers?

This.

It’s already tough enough to land so many long cast times as a Necro, it wouldn’t hurt to have some channel speeds adjusted a bit.

No channel time decrease, else it just feels too much like axe 2. The channel time is okay, the healing also, simply increase the damage a bit or the scaling, its just too much of a dps loss at the moment.

Yeah, however the gap is too big to jusitify the healing you currently get. By increasing the damage you reduce the dps loss a bit making the skill work better while still feeling more unique.

Typically I only use it as a ranged skill when forced out of melee bye an AoE patch. In that capacity, I believe it functions just fine.

Yeah, however the gap is too big to jusitify the healing you currently get. By increasing the damage you reduce the dps loss a bit making the skill work better while still feeling more unique.

Not really just needs to cast faster. It’s damage is fine for what it does. Life siphon is one of the very few skills in game that as soon as its cast it doesn’t matter what direction you face or run it will continue to do its thing.

No need, weakness is a pretty big addition to a skill that is already basically a second heal.
