Quick question because I couldn’t find a proper answer anywhere. Hoping someone here might know!

If I use Life Transfer after a thief or mesmer has stealthed, does it still hit them? Or must I get at least one hit on them first while they are still visible?

I know that for a targeted channeled ability (eg. dagger 2) that I must have a target first and that the channel will continue after the target has gone into stealth, but for Life Transfer which doesn’t require a target, I wasn’t sure.

Life transfer (DS 4) will definately hit a target in range in stealth. You will not see the numbers and im pretty sure the combat log is blank, but you are hitting them. Same with any AOE or attack against a stealth target. Anet thought it would be unfair for us to be able to follow the damage numbers to track the invisible thief.

Ah, great. Thanks for the response. I have been using it sometimes on top of Shadow Refuge when my marks were on CD but was never sure if I was actually hitting anything.

Yes it will you can tell by the sound FX.

If you hear the chug’n then you are hitting “Someone” but if you hear no FX at all then you are not hitting anyone.

Any aoe will hit a player that is in stealth, will be harder to hit them or to know you are hitting them but it is possible. Larger marks helps alot with hitting thieves in stealth, life transfer, and wells are all amazing for this. The only issue is though tracking a stealthed player to get the most out of them.

As to dagger 2 and axe 2, if you are using it before they stealth the channled attack will still keep hitting them. Damage will not show but the channle attack will keep going.

Never noticed the sound you mention but DS4 will definitely hit stealthed targets in range; you can also take notice looking at the LF bar not dropping/raising.

yeh it definitely hits whether or not you start the channel before or after stealth. I have transfusion traited, when you see those green numbers you know somethings working
